Kisima Ngeda Camp

The Kisima Ngeda Camp was our second camp in a tour with Entara. It is located on the shores of the Eyasi Lake and our tent had a spectacular view of bird flocks constantly flying over the landscape. We would had been happy to just sit there and do nothing other than eat the excellent food served at meal times. But our guide, Peter, had other ideas for us. The truth is that we didn't really know what we had signed up for. We were taken to a fly camp to stay overnight in the most beautiful spot, the dry bed of an old lake where a promontory rises like an inland. A very surreal and exquisite landscape where a mech tent was set up for us to sleep under the stars. But the really amazing thing about this evening was the visitors we had, members of the Hadza tribe that inhabited the area. We had a chance to visit with a group of young hunter gatherers and the next day we joined them while they hunted for small birds and collected wild honey, which we ate. We have no words to describe the whole experience. After being home for a few days, we are still digesting all that we saw and experienced. We can not be thankful enough to Peter and the whole staff at the Kisima Camp.

Kisima Ngeda Camp is located on beautiful Lake Eyasi. Three friends and I stayed here in order to have a cultural experience to compliment our game viewing. The accommodations at this camp are comfortable and the meals are excellent. The hostess, Nannie, is delightful and full of information about the area. While staying there we did one night of fly camping with the Hadzabe Tribe and spent the next day joining the tribe on a hunt. It was fascinating! Highly recommend.

De weg naar het afgelegen Lake Eyasi en naar het Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp is lang, traag, hobbelig en stoffig ... maar net dat geeft je een zicht op het landelijke leven in Tanzania. Zo helemaal anders dan in de nationale parken. De mensen in deze regio hebben het echt niet makkelijk, maar zijn o zo trots op hun land. Wij maakten een lange wandeling met een plaatselijke gids, die ons heel openhartig vertelde over zijn leven en dat van zijn volk. Onze bewondering voor hen. De natuur in de omgeving van het tented camp is prachtig, en heel rustig. We verbleven hier maar 1 nacht, ik zou zeker 2 nachten aanraden. Geen luxe-accommodatie, maar alles is aanwezig, en proper. Goede bedden, wel wat lawaai van de wind in de bomen 's nachts, maar dat gaf net dat tikkeltje extra avonturiergevoel. Supervriendelijke ontvangst, iedereen doet zijn uiterste best. Mijn vriend kreeg er een heel fijne verjaardagswensen, veel mooier-warmer dan we in andere grotere resorts zagen. De ganse staf en keukenploeg danste en zong, hadden taart voor iedereen, en trakteerden ons nadien ook nog op een digestief in de bar. De aapjes die je vanaf je ontbijttafel zag waren nog een leuke extra. Dit is echt een ideale plek om in alle rust je safaritrip af te sluiten.
