Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

This was our second stay at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge and again we were delighted with this place. The facility is wonderfully located, well maintained with friendly service. The welcome with a tasty cake made a big impression on us. The two-room cottage met our requirements perfectly.

The property offers 67 rooms, including 15 triple rooms, 21 double rooms, 30 twin rooms, and 10 connecting rooms (accommodating up to 6 guests). There is also one suite and four additional rooms. Rooms can be converted from double to twin or triple setups, depending on guests' needs. Each room has stunning views of the lake and comes equipped with a safe and its own Wi-Fi router, ensuring a strong connection throughout the property. By the end of 2024, Wi-Fi will be available in all areas. The property features two wings, with spacious bungalows, each offering 2 rooms upstairs and 2 rooms downstairs. Guests can enjoy a beautiful lounge bar and a large open-air dining restaurant. The magnificent pool, which faces the lake, is a highlight, especially for families with children. The pool will be heated during January and February for added comfort. For dining, the hotel offers both half-board and full-board options. Fresh vegetables from the on-site botanical garden are served to guests, ensuring a farm-to-table experience. Guests can enjoy a range of additional activities, including nature game drives, cycling, pool table, massage services, and sundowners. There is also a dedicated barbecue site for casual dining. Evening entertainment includes performances such as singing and acrobats. Special events for children and honeymooners, such as private dinners near the pool, are available upon request. The hotel also offers laundry services and is planning to build a new conference center next year to cater to the growing demand from group bookings.

Started our safari in Lake Manyara. This lodge was a hidden gem we returned to after hours in the safari truck. It's located up high overlooking Lake Manyara. Again African style huts. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and genuinely love to talk to you, always calling "Jambo"!

This place is a signature chain of lodges in East africa and you have to stay there at least once because the rooms are the same at every park. The staff is lovely adn friendly, the rooms are a bit old fashion but still has the safari feeling, the garden is tidy and very well manicured, the view is to die for (The Rift Valley and Lake Manyara National Park). The restaurant is extremely classy and food is abundant and different types of food for everyone. My clients were unhappy andd grumpy because of some other issues about the safari. The manager even came to me and asked what he can do about it. It iss very sweet that he noticed the situation.

Garlic Allergy Although I had notified Serena Head office of my garlic allergy, Serena Lake Manyara. did not know on arrival. The chef prepared me a separate meal which was excellent. We were invited back for lunch on our return journey to prove that the food could be prepared. We were treated to a special location, excellent food to address the earlier problem. I cannot fault the staff in their desire to remedy the situation and give us a good experience overall.

Nos gustó mucho alojarnos en este hotel. Está organizado en "cabañas" de 4 habitaciones (2 arriba y 2 abajo) a las que se llega andando por el exterior (de noche tienes que ir acompañado por un guardia, por seguridad respecto a los animales salvajes). Todas ellas tienen una terraza/balcón con vistas al jardín. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas, aunque sin lujos (internet muy limitado, no hay TV, el mobiliario no es el más nuevo, etc.). La decoración tanto de las habitaciones como del hotel en general es muy original (y del estilo Serena). La piscina está bien aunque un poco fría durante nuestra estancia. Las vistas desde la misma y desde la terraza que hay cerca son fabulosas, se puede ver el Lago Manyara. El restaurante es correcto, bastante bueno para lo que se puede encontrar en los distintos hoteles de la zona. Consiste en un bufet libre para el desayuno y servicio a la carta para la cena. Dispone de espacios comunes como sala TV, sala de lectura, etc. El personal del hotel es muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Como recomendación extra: evitar el lunch box siempre que sea posible (en este hotel y cualquier otro, pero sobre todo en los hoteles Serena que nos quedamos era peor que en otros hoteles). Otra recomendación es que nos os alojéis siempre en hoteles Serena sino que cambiéis de cadena para que encontréis una decoración y estilo más variado (aunque no son iguales sí guardan muchos puntos en común, especialmente en comida).
