Norbu the Montanna, Dharamshala - Ihcl SeleQtions

We stayed here for 3 nights in Dharamshala while on our road trip throughout Himachal. The rooms and overall infrastructure is excellent. The rooms are well furnished with huge balconies and well equipped washrooms. This is where the good things end. The breakfast was lacking in options on our first day - as they didn't have a full fledged buffet - but it was just fine on the next 2 days. The food is nothing to talk about. The overall management at the property is just pathetic - which is extremely unlike a Taj Property. One instance which was just pathetic was - that on one night we needed water at 11pm and nobody answered the phones for 45 mins and then I had to walk to the reception and to my suprise there was no one there and no one in the office. Then I called the GM of the hotel - who was even worse - was not all apologetic - instead didn't even bother to speak or solve the situation. So that's when I realised that GM himself wasn't motivated enough to run the property - and that showed throughout the staff - there was no intent in making the stay memorable. We travelled with our pet and each day - it was a task to get the food on time. That was the only saving grace - that we could travel with our dog and he enjoyed a lot in the lawns of the property.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Norbu The Montanna, largely thanks to the incredible staff and the breathtaking views! The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. A special shout-out to Chef James (BEST ******* food) and Chef Sagar at the pizzeria for their culinary creations, and to Abhinay & Saurabh for their attentive and friendly service. We were truly impressed and would highly recommend this resort.
