The facilities at the hotel are very good. It’s a definite wow factor when you walk in. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony and it was of a high standard with a great bathroom with separate bath and shower. What lets this hotel down badly is the attitude of the staff. Not everyone I have to say as the housekeeping and laundry staff were really good and with the attitude you would expect from a five star establishment. However, the reception staff and staff at both breakfast and the one dinner we had in the a la carte restaurant were sadly lacking in customer service. I’m not sure whether it was a lack of training, bad attitude or combination. Our experience at dinner on New Year’s Day was particularly bad. No drinks order was taken and we were not asked if everything was ok after the meal or even if we wanted dessert. We were ignored and I felt very uncomfortable. We were the only ones left in the restaurant after the other 2 tables left so there were no excuses. It was a bad start to our holiday and I was pleased to leave.
