This hotel is amazing. I was in Sri Lanka for a special trip with my daughter. The staff were the most friendly but non intrusive staff you could ever meet. We were treated like royalty. Everywhere was spotless, the chef cooks fantastic food and the pool was incredible. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The situation above the lake is quiet but still close enough for all the local trips we tourists like to do.

We arrived feeling exhausted and I had injured my foot ! Could not have had more special and individual treatment by the kind staff, down to providing a crutch without my asking. We were the only guests, but never made to feel anything other than special. Rudy and his Team allowed the Chef to give me a demonstration of some of the dishes for the famous rice and curry ! Delicious and one evening a Tulapia ordered especially. We loved our special stay. Thank you.

We stayed here from the 3rd day of our trip to the 6th - and we were treated to the most relaxing and luxurious time. Fortunately for us - but a shame for the hotel and team - we were the only guests here for the duration of our stay, meaning we had the whole place to ourselves. The Lake Lodge only has 10 rooms anyway, but we had the huge beautiful pool, excellent restaurant, and all the team who work here just for us! Not only is the property very well laid out and kept pristine, but the quirky little ornaments throughout the place and amazing orchids just bring a smile when you see a new one. Our room was on the top floor and looked over part of the gardens and on to a small rainforest area. Very peaceful, with lots of little birds of all shapes, sizes and colours always darting around. We watched sunset the first night around 6pm, just as the flying foxes begin to come out to fly away and feed, when there was a knock on the door and two complimentary cocktails arrived with a small bowl of snacks for us to enjoy the sunset even more. One of the many gestures Lake Lodge do to make your stay as fabulous as they can. At dinner the first night we met Michel the owner, who was welcoming and friendly. We had a choice of two starters and three main courses and selected the Sri Lankan Curry as our main course. Amazing … and HUGE portions. Along with your selected curry there are three other vegetable curries and rice. The flours were excellent as was the presentation and service. It was like that all the time we were here. In summary, from checking in through to checking out, this has been one of the best experiences of a hotel we have had on our travels over many years. The pool is amazing .. you don’t get Italian Porcelain Patio slabs .. but you are in Sri Lanka! You get lovely authentic local materials which are kept to the highest degree. Pulasthi and his team (a special mention to Dilshan) make you feel so special. Nothing is too much and you leave the place feeling you’ve left friends behind. Pulasthi also arranged a local walking safari to see Loris’s and a jeep Safari to see the elephants at Minneriya for us - all at prices far less than we had seen online. This truly is a REAL boutique hotel experience that you simply must try if you came to the Dambulla/Kandalama area. Thank you all at the Lake Lodge.

We spent three nights at this lovely hotel and wish it was longer. Welcome drinks and pre dinner drinks and snacks were very welcome. The rooms were comfortable with all conveniences and comfortable beds etc. There was a huge pool, lovely gardens but the highlight for us was the food. We ate in for the three nights and the chef did an amazing job. The four of us are "foodies" and rather fussy but we could not fault the meals both in presentation and taste. Even the tropical fruit for breakfast was beautifully served. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We had the most magical time at this hotel. The staff is amazing. They are attentive to detail and our comfort and the kindness was overwhelming. The view from the outdoor pool deck all over the treetops is just so invigorating being in nature was wonderful. The chef is exceptional. The creativity and the talent was like a five star Michelin restaurant in the middle of a wonderful city. I highly recommend this place and I hope that you enjoy it like we did.

Everything is wonderful! People are very kind and the food is very creative and tasty!! Best of the day here is swimming in the pool while enjoying the afternoon snacks. Very peaceful location near the nature and lake. Highly recommend it!!!

Had a wonderful time with my family at Lake Lodge. The food was delicious, and the rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. It's the perfect place for peace and relaxation. One of the best boutique stays in Sri Lanka. We will definitely visit again.

Lake Lodge is gorgeous boutique hotel in Danbulla. The rooms are lodge with a lovely outlook. The pool is large and inviting. Gardens are lovely. Breakfast is delicious. We ate dinner one night and it was delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is an excellent place to explore the region. Highly recommedned.

The wonderful Michel and his team gave us a fabulous couple of days at his most glorious hotel. Beautiful location, lovely rooms, excellent food and a gorgeous big pool, with the most generous and hospitable service. We heartily recommend this hotel.
