Had a pleasant stay. We were greeted with warm smile and the check in was smooth. Rooms were neat and tidy, as comfortable as it gets. The restaurants, foods, hospitality, the night views, morning beach views were great! Recommended for everyone. My wife loved this stay, I felt the same too. Never miss to relax and unwind at the spa facility here.

Excellent property, stunning architecture and presence of all natural elements. Pristine beach, lovely pool and fancy spa. Great food, service and hospitality. We stayed in the suite for 3 nights and had a great experience. Will definitely return!

The Intercontinental brand is renowned as a top class business brand and this was our first stay at at a 'Resort' designation. I can report that this hotel fully lives up to the high reputaion of the brand. It is very much preferable to stay here than in the polluted mayhem of Chennai itself. The commute to the city is about an hour but as a tourist, one is most likely to wish to see the interesting sites in Chennai itself within a single day. with planning and a reasonably early start this is quite possible. Mahabalipuram is 15 minutes away and there are other sites of interest around. After the long flight from the UK and making allowances for jet lag, I would say a five night stay is about right for the property. Although this depends on your budget and planned level of activity. If you review the IHG/hotel website you will discover there are rooms categorised as 'Sea View with Balcony'. I strongly recommend this grade of room. They are very highly spec'd and offer a restful balconied view over the gardens towards the sea. Additionally this grade of room does offer access to the Club room which offers a two hour hospitality period every evening which was a delight. Do be sure you qualify for this when making your reservation. For India, this hotel is expensive. But coming from Europe, never mind the USA, taking the standards of service and quality of the accommodation into ccount, we felt the tarrif was worth it. The staff work very hard to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Join the IHG loyalty club! One snag. I did have a problem with a couple of emails going amiss prior to our stay. Is this just 'India'? Maybe.

Hotel Review: A Great Stay with a Few Suggestions for Improvement We recently stayed at the hotel with a group of friends and had a wonderful time overall. The hospitality of the staff stood out—they were attentive, friendly, and always eager to assist, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The beachside restaurant was a highlight of our trip. Dining with a view of the waves was truly relaxing, and the food quality in The melting point was excellent, especially the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of delicious options. We would like to give special thanks Ramesh and Lakshmi for being a great host in the restaurants. The night live music was great too. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The showers we felt a bit cramped and would benefit from more space and the inclusion of overhead showers for added convenience. Additionally, the lighting controls in the rooms were quite complicated, and simplifying them would make the experience smoother for guests. Overall, it was a great stay, and we hope to see these enhancements on our next visit to make it even better!

I stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The suite facing the ocean was amazing. Excellent service. The spa service were excellent too. I did neck, shoulder and feet indian massages. The 3 restaurants have a variety of food, local international and Chinese.

Relaxing atmosphere and great people, especially govind (personal trainer) is really kind. Suresh's lung capacity is impressive (you'll see when you arrive at the hotel) and the guy from the shop is really helpfull to get some souvenirs.

Had a lovely short break with family in late December. enjoyed the warm welcome given, ambience, evening tea and coffee and instrumental music played during sunset. the staff are all lovely friendly and hardworking. Special mention and credit to the amazing, ever so helpful, and always smiling Yanbeni who helped organise a very nice 50th birthday surprise for my husband -thanks a lot Yanbeni. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience at the Intercontinental in Mahabalipuram. We had lovely drinks by the beach and an exceptional dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Jay - the duty manager and his staff were very kind and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
