Ghonday Village Resort Kaluk Sikkim

A lovely resort to stay amidst nature, away from the din and bustle of the town at Kaluk village in Rinchenpong. We booked a room here for 2 nights (28th March to 30th March 2025). We enjoyed every bit of our stay. The resort is very clean and entire atmosphere in and around the resort is awesome. We met courteous and friendly staffs here. They are very helpful, gentle and serve with smiles. We had booked a room on the top floor. The room was spacious and very clean. We had complementary breakfast platters in our package. The menu had plenty of choices and taste of food was too good. We visited famous Rinchenpong Monastery which is not far from this resort. We met the owner of the property (Mr. Gurung) here and his compassion towards guests is praiseworthy. Mr. Norbu (at the reception desk of the resort) is very gentle and polite. He nicely described and explained us about the nearby attractions. Thank you very much Mr. Gurung and Mr. Norbu for your friendly gesture. The reservation, check in and check out processes are smooth. I would love to stay here again. Best wishes! Thank you indeed!

Ghonday resort is just a hidden gem in Kaluk. We stayed in this resort for 1night only. During check out both myself & my better half lamented why we stayed here for just 1night only. Most of the rooms in this resort are Kanchunjunga view rooms. The ambience of the resort is mindblowing.You can enjoy the serenity of Kaluk by sitting in the room.The rooms are cozy.All the staffs are courteous and foods are just yummy.Would request everyone who wish to visit Kaluk to stay in this beautiful resort.

First of all the atmosphere of the hotel is just wonderful. I stayed here 4 nights and enjoy too much. And the view of the Kanchenjunga moutain range is just phenomenal from the room. The all staffs are very helpful and adorable. Nice to see you all. I hope will visit again. Specially mention the beautiful lady Reshma Gurung is very helpful and others girls as well. Went with low expectations but was so so pleasantly surprised... Amazing views on a clear day, great cleanliness and fresh awesome food... obviously variety was not as in a 5 star hotel, but quality of food was fantastic. the staff were extremely nice and courteous, very hard working too. Linen was changed everyday. Would love to go back again and just relax in one of the cottages for a few days!

It was my 3rd time stay at Ghonday in Kaluk. My 1st stay in this property was in june'2014, next i stayed here in 01/2019 and now in this month. It's pity that my latest stay with this property didn't satisfy as per my expectations. What I like most : 1) good room with good view. Ghonday has been maintaining this since long. All are neat and clean with charming decoration. What I didn't like : 1) Food. Holidaying with good food makes the life enjoyable. But, i didn't get that this time. And I had same experience in my last stay in 2019 also. Food options are limited and not testy. I suggest a good cook in this matter. Most of the travellers are from west bengal- so there should be an option as per their appetite. Making good food doesn't require good ingredients always, what actually necessary is good hand. 2) due to a software glitch, wrong bill was generated before our checkout. It takes a lot of time and patience from our end to solve the issue. This thing should be avoided and there should be alternate way to solve this hiccups.

The resort is beautifully decorated with a great view of the mountains. You can sit in your room's balcony and even from your bed you can see the whole range. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The ambiance is elegant and the staff are very cooperative.. The restaurant menu has quite a lot of variety..and beware of ordering for the quantity was huge. Five of us shared 3 plates of rice.
