We spent two weeks on Rhodes and stayed in four different hotels – this one had by far the largest pool area and the best entertainment program. Our balcony view was stunning, and the location is absolutely beautiful. Within 10–15 minutes, you’re in the heart of Rhodes Town, which is truly breathtaking. What we found disappointing, though, was the breakfast buffet. The quality of the food was quite poor – very basic and clearly the cheapest products. The toast and rolls were soft and soggy, there were no pancakes, no waffles, and barely any fresh fruit (only oranges were offered). In the other hotels we had pineapple, melon, kiwi, and much more. That was a big letdown. Eventually, I started bringing my own bread and some nuts for breakfast – as there were no nuts available at all, for example. At first, I wanted to give the hotel just three stars. But then I looked at what we actually paid – and for the price, the hotel is absolutely fine. It’s definitely budget-friendly. However, in terms of quality, I wouldn’t really classify it as a true four-star hotel. The food quality alone would bring it down to more of a three-star level. Also, you have to pay extra for the in-room safe and for the Wi-Fi. That’s not ideal. From a marketing point of view, it would be smarter to include those things in the price. Add €20 to the weekly rate and offer Wi-Fi and the safe for free – that would make a much better first impression. As it is, you check in and are immediately told there are extra fees, which kind of puts a damper on the arrival experience. That said, the value for money is still okay. There are lots of German-speaking kids around, and our children (ages 6 and 9) made friends very quickly and had an amazing time. So yes, we do recommend the hotel, but just be aware: it’s probably not what you’d expect from a four-star hotel – more like a good three-star. And as always, if you’re not paying a premium price, you can’t expect premium service.
