Seehotel Gelterswoog

Wir waren wieder einmal am Gelterswoog-nach unserer Hochzeit und diverser Festtage gaben wir Dario und seiner Frau das Zepter erneut in die Hand und er gestaltete uns einen unvergesslichen Tag. Über die lokation selbst braucht man denke ich nichts zu sagen-Urlaubsfeeling pur! Die Auswahl der Weine aber auch das Essen wahnsinnig lecker- die diversen kulinarischen Vorspeisen und der Wolfsbarsch, ein Traum! Danke euch beiden und bis zum nächsten mal!

Friendly and welcoming, with lake/woods views from every window and lovely walking trails at the doorstep! Superb/fresh Italian food! Great service! Lovely and romantic fireplace dining room overlooking the lake right downstairs:) Dario, his wife Sandra, her mother Margaret and little dog Chico are Super hosts with a heart for service and quality, treated us like family, and speak English well. We PCS'd to Ramstein AB 18-min away late January, base lodging was getting booked, so we e-mailed & Dario gave us a great deal for 8-weeks extended stay at 120Euro/day in their big top floor lake view apartment; we're on week 5. Features we have loved: Private patio, large picture windows lake & wooded hillside views, sun streaming in from the kitchen window, great wifi, great cross-breezes/airflow, beautiful scenic/peaceful grounds and trails into the hills and around the lake, put-put golf and Saturday flea-market and Imbiss a short walk around the lake (we love Frikadelle and Karlsberg Urpils in the sunshine at lakeside) , walking Chico on the lakeside trail, chats with Margaret about the new great-grandbaby and life in Italy and Germany, Dario's food ---oooh, the sea bass! Great place for a wedding or other events too - they have huge dining/conference spaces and a monster sized terrace lakeside, lots of parking, easy train access from Hoheneken, nearby castle ruins and lots of outdoor wanderwegging options. Vogelweh/Kapaun AS gates are conveniently just down the street 5-min so we could hit the commissary/Shopette and vehicle registration. What a blessing, wish we could stay longer. We will be living not too far away during our tour, so will return here for dinners and evening walks often, and get word out about this hidden gem!
