Stayed here May 11-21st. We are a family of 3. Our son is almost 4 years old. And 1 adult is vegan. We also travelled with 2 other couples with their 3 year olds. I have given the hotel 4 stars… but if I could have given half a star I would have actually awarded it 3.5 stars. Graded up as I felt it deserved more than 3. So first impressions… the hotel is lovely and very clean. Staff are friendly. I wasn’t overly impressed with the arrival. We got there just after 9pm after a long day travelling with 3 toddlers and was told there was no where to get food. The buffet was shut and the snack bar didn’t open until 11pm. I didn’t think this was great really. If it’s not 24hr food then at least offer some sandwiches or something. We didn’t need anything fancy but the children were exhausted and hungry. The room…. Lovely. Nice size. We booked a standard room with no balcony but were given a balcony which was a nice surprise. The room had a double bed which was really comfy. And a sofa bed pulled out and made up for our little boy. The shower was gorgeous and the bathroom had all the toiletries I would want including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturiser, razors, ear buds, cotton pads. The WiFi was great in the room and throughout the hotel. The food… loads of choice if you aren’t vegan and my husband and friends never complained about quality! I didn’t try and a la cartes but the other couples we travelled with and said they were all great. As I’m vegan the rest of the food is reviewed mainly from that perspective! In our couple, we probably would have done a couple of a la cartes, but when I contacted the hotel to ask if they could accommodate my being vegan at the steak restaurant (as my husband wanted to go) they stated “Regarding your enquiry we would like to inform you that each of our à la carte restaurants features its own unique menu, carefully crafted by our chefs to reflect the restaurant's concept. Unfortunately, at the Beef Restaurant, we are unable to offer dishes that are not part of its designated menu.” This is direct quote. I had suggested doing me a cauliflower steak instead which I thought was something nice and simple… but got that response which I thought was poor from a 5* hotel. However, the buffet was lovely. Being vegan I had a decent choice at the evening meal. The salad was gorgeous with homemade hummus and I usually had rice with some dish that usually consisted of being in a tomato sauce. Like roasted cauliflower, or green beans or roasted veg. There were loads of different sourdough breads and I had brought my own butter with me which was the right call as the hotel didn’t supply vegan butter. They also had jacket potatoes on some nights which was lovely. They did have loads of plant based milks for breakfast though which was great. They had a gluten free breakfast cereal section, I would have liked to have had cereals marked up if they were vegan which unfortunately hadn’t been done. Breakfast was de
