The title of this review might seem like a gross exaggeration on first inspection. Still, please read the whole review to understand why the moniker of Belek's 'Shining' Hotel is truly justified. This holiday was meant to be a celebration of my sister's recovery after a long battle with thyroid cancer. Yet, it turned into an absolute nightmare due to the appalling standards at the hotel and the numerous issues we faced. Given that Hotella Hotel and Spa is advertised as a four-star establishment, we expected a high level of service and comfort, but it fell far short of that standard in every conceivable way. When we arrived, it was clear that the hotel did not live up to its advertised four-star rating. Our room was filthy, with dirty surfaces and a foul odour, which was utterly unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one with such a rating. This was just the beginning of our distressing stay. On the second night, the drainage in the shower backed up, resulting in sewerage flooding the bathroom. This was disgusting and a severe health hazard, which we found deeply concerning. Despite our immediate complaints, the hotel staff showed little interest and left the problem unresolved for the remainder of our stay. This, combined with an ongoing ant infestation throughout the hotel, made the environment wholly unsanitary and unfit for guests. The Wi-Fi, advertised as available throughout the premises, was intermittent and unreliable in our room and public areas. This made staying connected or planning our activities impossible, adding unnecessary frustration and stress to an unpleasant experience. The inability to rely on basic amenities further compounded our disappointment with the hotel. The most serious issue, however, was the food. Both my sister and I suffered from food poisoning after eating at the hotel, which we believe was due to undercooked or expired meat being served. This left us physically ill for the remainder of our stay, forcing us to avoid eating at the hotel altogether. This ruined our holiday experience and incurred extra costs for meals elsewhere. Considering that this was a supposed four-star hotel, such negligence in food safety is inexcusable. To make matters worse, most hotel staff could have been more helpful and dismissive whenever we raised our concerns. Rather than addressing the issues, they seemed indifferent, rendering us helpless and frustrated. We also felt wholly exploited by the exorbitant taxi fares organised through the hotel. A short journey between the hotel and the nearby town of Belek or the Land of Legends was charged at an outrageous €15/₺600. This was profiteering and money-grabbing, as the distance was minimal, yet we were forced to pay these inflated prices due to the hotel's arrangements. This left a bitter taste in our mouths and only added to the sense that we were being taken advantage of at every opportunity. To make matters worse, during one of our excursions, we encountered a highly aggressive
