Chateau des Janroux

Love this place! I love this place. It’s the second time here but there will be more visits for sure. The hotel is perfectly located in the north of Beaujolais, close to Lyon and Geneva and is a small castle. Each room is stylishly decorated. Outside it’s like a big garden with a nice pool. So relaxing, like a retreat. Just adult guests and the pool is followingly no playground. Love the hosts Hervé and Natalia who are so friendly and make sure you will have a great stay. Take the opportunity to do the wine tasting, it is just brilliant. Finally, the breakfast is just fabulous. Highly recommended to visit Chateau de Janroux.

July Summer 2023 If we could rate this hotel higher than 10 we would. Excellent stay for two nights. Wonderful hotel and surroundings for a luxurious and relaxing stay. We loved it and could easily go back.

What a find in the Beaujolais region of France. Loved this beautiful chalet! Room was nicely furnished and huge with private bath. Breakfast was perfect with melt in your mouth freshly baked croissants and local jams. Good coffee too. Having said that, the highlight was touring Herve’s private wine cellar and tasting 10 of his best wines. He has hundreds of bottles in the cellar. You’ll learn more about wines from Herve than any winery visit in France, or anywhere for that matter. Herve’s wife had great restaurant recommendations for the area!

What a perfect spot to begin our trip from southern Burgundy to Bandol. Our host and hostess went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was something out of a French romance novel. Clean, quiet, comfortable bed, plenty of space. Breakfast was delightful --fresh croissant, locally made jams and jellies, cheeses, yogurt, all served in a sweet parlor. Just wish we could've stayed a bit longer.

We had an amazing experience at Chateau des Janroux! The hospitality of Natalia and Herve is very warm and welcoming. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to the suite because of a birthday, which was very kind. Herve’s wine cellar and tasting made our experience and the birthday complete. He has a great selection and his passion is inspiring. The chateau itself is beautiful, the garden has great spots to enjoy the sun and some wine. Thank you again to Natalia and Herve, we highly recommend this place and hope to go back some day!

We had a lovely stay. The property is secluded with mountains all around, and our hosts, Hervé and Natalia, accentuated our experience with an amazing wine tasting, fresh cherries from their tree, making dinner recommendations and placing reservations on our behalf, hiking recommendations (we took Circuit 2 which was a 10 minute walk from the property, and the hike brings you to the top of the region), and a great breakfast every morning (they do even more, but I don’t want to ruin any of their surprises!) We stayed in the Chambre la Comtesse. It was well decorated and fit our needs well. The bath does not have a fixed shower head but one that pulls out from the faucet. That turned out not to be an issue for us, but if it would be for you they have a number of other nice rooms to choose from. All in all, if you are looking for a trip outside of a French city and want an experience in the countryside, we would highly recommend staying at Château des Janroux because of the well-designed property, the great food within a close vicinity, great hiking views, and the hosts that made every aspect better.
