Tucker Peak Lodge

The room was very nice: They provided kitchen facilities but Trip. com did not tell me that. The parking is an issue.

We loved our stay here. We needed somewhere close by for a wedding in Julian, and this was not only the perfect location logistically, but the mountain views made for a beautiful and tranquil home base. The Rosewood Suite was comfortable and cozy, and well-stocked with coffee, towels and toiletries. The refrigerator was an added bonus as we brought leftovers home nearly every day. Self-check in was extremely easy and convenient. The cherry on top was I left a jacket in the room after checking out and the lodge mailed the jacket to me, clear across the country, for free. Would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

With added service fees ($75), we overpaid for our room. There was NO fireplace, NO view out the window (see photo), and the air conditioner did not work. Every 2 minutes it would turn on, blow air for 30 seconds and quit, all night long. There were no extra blankets in the room, other than what was on the bed. There were 2 large dressers, a tiny table and 2 small wooden chairs, but NO "comfortable seating". With less furniture, the room could be arranged better and a comfy chair added. The floor was not clean and the curtains were frayed at the top (see photo). The bed was comfortable, but precariously high (see photo). My 6 ft. husband could barely sit on it with his feet on the floor and it was too close the windows, making it difficult to access that side of the bed. During the night, I could see a light leak, where the ceiling and wall met. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work and it was the smallest toilet I've seen since grade school. A larger throne would fit, if they removed the added on bidet. We never saw any staff during check-in or check-out or in between. Pastries in the morning would have been nice, instead of the instant oatmeal and coffee that was offered. The best thing about the stay, were the sweet, adorable cats who greeted us when we arrived. The common room was inviting with an impressive rock wall fireplace. The drive was beautiful and the area was very quiet. It would be a great star gazing location, but unfortunately, it was overcast the night we were there (not the fault of the lodge!). This place has potential to be wonderful, but it needs much more TLC and thought by the owner. Maybe the other rooms were better than the one we got, but every room should be warm, clean and comfortable. I can't imagine returning to this lodge in the future. I think I would opt for a hotel in Borrego Springs, over Julian, if Borrego Springs is your destination.

We’ve been going to Julian for years,but our first time here. Great place. We loved the Rosewood room. Everyone staying seemed to feel the same way. Cozy and welcoming shared areas. Warm and friendly kitchen area if you want to prepare a meal.

We originally booked our stay for two nights. We were celebrating my birthday. Unfortunately our 85 lb. Chocolate Lab Abby injured her knee days before our stay. When we arrived on the property there was no way we were going to be able to get her up the stairs to our booked room the Rosewood. The owners were on property and quickly upgraded us for a minimal fee to the one and only room on the first floor. It was beautiful. Our purpose for going to Julian, CA was for hiking. Since Abby was unable to hike due to her injury and the weather was not in our favor we decided to only stay one of the two nights we had booked. The property was clean, bed linens extremely comfortable, large jacuzzi tub in our room and a breathtaking setting. They even had a large dog bed available to use if needed but we travel with Abby’s bed. The place looks exactly as shown in their online photos. We will be back once we have Abby back to 100%.

Love this place! Just stunning. A little bit out of town which is nice because you get breathtaking views of rolling hills. This would be an excellent spot for an entire family or bachelorette as there are a bunch of suites and a main area. We stayed at the Mountain View suite which had its own private entry. I will absolutely be staying here again!

Great place - my wife and I rolled up on a Sunday -checked the lodge location and said howdy to Harley Our Tranquility room was not quite ready So we went to Julian- about 2 pm Sunday Place was overrun We then had pizza/wine at the Heroes restaurant just down the road Got back at 5 and fell in love with this rustic and cozy mountain get—away Harley was cool and warm His pet felines were entertaining on the Ostia deck Coffee was sweet hot and fresh in the morning We will return Ken/Kim

This is a charming mountain cabin with private rooms, quality beds and bedding, and nice bathrooms. Self check-in and check-out makes it very convenient. They have a full kitchen, and although they don't serve a hot breakfast like many B&Bs, I gave five stars because they made cooking what we wanted convenient and allowed us to use their full-sized oven and fridge. The on-site staff are very friendly. I would stay here again.

Incredible views and quiet lodge setting. Great coffee service ( although we wish we had a machine in our room). Friendly kitty on premises! We enjoyed the space of the tranquility suite but we wish we could have avoided the other guests looking through the windows from the deck! Very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows, good heating and a very nice bidet!
