Hotel molto bello e curato, soprattutto per quanto riguarda le piscine, che sono fantastiche. Sono presenti anche la sauna e una piccola palestra. La colazione è molto abbondante e sono presenti anche prodotti km0. Anche la posizione è molto buona: si trova circa 20 minuti da Funchal. Consigliato!

Tranquil hiden gem beautifully setup in a quite valley.If u took a stroll at the front garden during the night , the smell of Eucalyptus is just wonderful.

Excelente estadia, lugar muito sossegado e agradável. Jardins cheios de flores e árvores lindíssimas e plantações biológicas de frutas e legumes, que depois são usados para a confecção nas suas refeições. Aconselho vivamente para quem quer relaxar ao som e perfume da natureza.

Excelent choice for our stay in Madeira. The hotel is located in a natural botanical garden - some will count this as a minus, but I disagree. On our arrival, at 2AM - Bolt cost was 25USD (31kms). Excelent service, very clean, lots of activities and friendly staff. Totally recommended.

Best hotel in the area

Für uns die schönste Quinta auf Madeira. Abseits der Touristenströme im Herzen der Jadim da Serra mit eigener Geschichte und einen tollen Garten. Hier wird viel Gemüse und Früchte selber angebaut. Das Hotel hat ein ausgezeichnetes Restaurant, auch das Frühstück ist einzigartig. Es gibt auch eine Spa & Wellness Bereich mit Innenpool, Jacuzzi und Sauna. Verschiedene Massagen werden angeboten, es empfiehlt sich ein paar Tage im voraus zu reservieren. Wir waren schon letztes Jahr hier und werden auch bestimmt wieder kommen. Zu erwähnen ist auch der exzellente Zimmerservice mit Willkommensfrüchtekorb und jeden Tag eine kleine Schokolade aufs Bett.

Beautiful place a bit off the beaten path Beautiful property up in the hills and mountains above Funchal. The gardens are especially impressive. Large, clean and inviting room. Bed a little too hard and water pressure in sink and shower not impressive, otherwise nothing to complain about. Great breakfast - good selection and quality offerings. Also very tasty food in the bar. Sadly no dedicated personnel in the bar, so quite a bit of waiting time before people would come over from the restaurant. But excellent service once they arrived! Good parking as well, a little ways from the front door, and just as well, because you really need a car to stay up here. Quite a ways from anything. May not be ideal for everybody, but I really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the drive up from Funchal is easy, on excellent roads most of the way.

Lovely hotel and gardens. Staying in January. No one in the hotel, no staff, no service , horribly depressing. Food! What can I say, if you want to experience strange combo, this is the place. If not run. I am 60 years old. Never wrote a review. But i though they was a first for any thing. PS Horribly expensive .

Das Hotel ist schön, das Essen wenn man kein Vergetarisch essen will sehr gut. Das Vegetarische lässt zu wünschen übrig und ist Ideen los. Bei Buchung mit Dinner war es nicht möglich Anstatt dem Nachtisch einen Espresso zu bekommen. War im Dezember und habe sehr viel gefroren. Die Fenster sind wohl schalldichte, hörte jedoch von draußen Hunde bellen und den grähen. Vom Nachbarzimmer war es auch hellhörig Fazit in der kalten Jahreszeit für das Hotel warme Kleidung mitbringen, wenn dort essen nicht zuvor buchen sondern nach Karte bestellen. Bei Geräuschempfindlichkeit Gehörschutz mitnehmen.

I have just returned home having enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at this unique hotel. The situation and extensive gardens are truly stunning and the staff are highly professional and helpful. The food (I was on half board) was exquisite and the five course Christmas Eve dinner was a culinary tour de force. I returned to my room following a morning walk on Christmas Day to find three presents lying in wait: a madeiran molasses cake, a box of delectable biscuits and a bottled of the Quinta da Serra's delightful home-brewed cider, a lovely touch. The relative remoteness of the hotel may not suit all, but the hotel does provide an excellant shuttle service to Funchal and the 96 bus stop is right by the hotel if you fancy a trip to the beautiful fishing village of Camara de Lobos. I also took a short taxi ride to the Boca da Corrida viewpoint above the hotel with spectacular views over the Nuns Valley. The large indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna are also superb.
