My wife and I recently made a first visit to this large all-inclusive hotel and enjoyed it overall, so let me quickly summarise the real positives and also point out a few negatives, which could be improved. The biggest strengths of this 4* hotel are its willing and friendly staff, its cleanliness, the excellent quality of its buffet food service and its beachside location. However, we had paid extra for a Star Prestige Sea-View Double room and, while it certainly had a decent sea-view, its decor was in some need of renovation, with chipped paintwork around the room, crumbling paintwork on the balcony and with the bathroom surfaces very worn in places. At least hot water was plentiful. Also, the location of our Star Prestige room meant it enjoyed plenty of morning sunshine, but this disappeared by lunchtime and it was pretty chilly on the balcony from then onwards. Other rooms enjoy far better positions and longer periods of balcony sunshine, so it’s important to try to book carefully if you can. It’s great that for many parts of the hotel you can choose and book a specific room via their website. HOWEVER, this is sadly totally PROHIBITED for all the rooms in the best seafront part of the hotel, even if you are willing to book and pay in full a year in advance, as we might well have been willing to for a return in 2026, and this is such a disappointment. Positives of our Star Prestige status included a shared private pool and sunbed area, with snack and drink facilities, and a lounge with tea and coffee making etc plus daily newspapers. Also, it was lovely to be able to use a separate Star Prestige area in the main restaurant, with crisp linen tablecloths and napkins as well as having drinks served to your table at dinner by staff, although the drinks service was at times very slow and it would have been quicker and easier just to use the nearby self-serve drinks area. The staff in the main bar area and the show lounge were friendly, quick and efficient and the evening entertainment shows were varied and of decent quality. So, a slightly mixed experience for us, but positive overall. It’s just a real shame that the unwillingness of Iberostar’s management to let you book any specific room in the best seafront part of the hotel, unlike elsewhere with rooms less in demand, means that this will almost certainly stop us returning in the future.
