Mango Beach House

We stayed at Mango Beach House for a whole glorious week in the beginning of March. Our hosts, Beth and Dullah, and their wonderful staff could not do enough for us and we immediately felt part of the family. We very much enjoyed the tastefully and intelligently refurbished lodge hotel where the strong water pressure guarantees a lovely shower at any time of day and the robust wifi makes it easy to stay in touch with friends and family. The beautifully presented breakfast includes fresh tropical fruit in abundance and eggs cooked to order as well as local specialities. The lunch and dinner menus offer expertly prepared Zanzibarian delights with a twist. Beth organises not just tuk-tuks and taxis to Paje, the airport and other places, but also excursions to the serene Maluum caves, the spectacular Mtende beach, spice farms as well as sunrise fishing trips in a dhow. Mango Beach House is the perfect location to explore the whole stretch of Jambiani beach and the village itself. All in all, it was seven days in paradise and we cannot wait to return. Through a friend we spent 5 days in the Mango Beach in Jambiani. Our 2 room apartment included a shower and a terrace. Everything was stylish and functional and gave us the feeling of a relaxing stay at warmhearted host Beth and her husband Dullah. The breakfast was amazing, the dinner very delicious and original. Beth organizes everything you can think of by well knowing the whole area and a long experience in gastronomy.

Amazing place right by the beach with real African atmosphere. It was our African home for five days. We wished we could stay longer. Unfortunately, it was full. We stayed in different hotels in Zanzibar , but this one was the most authentic and most we enjoyed. By far the best. We stayed in the room right under the cafe. It was a big room with big bathroom. Very comfortable. Refrigerator was in the veranda kitchen. We spend many relaxed hours in our veranda and took many long walks on the beach. White powdery sands. Kiddo is a very loving guy. Whole place exudes love. You feel peaceful and loving also. He arranged a reading light for our bedtime reading. He is so open to feedbacks. Because he wants to better the place all the time. He lost his German wife Lisa last year. He says, this place was their baby. RIP Lisa. Not only Kiddo,but everybody was so nice and friendly. We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts. Pancakes, Spanish omelette, Fresh juice, fresh fruits and coffee everyday. Dinner also very good in Kiddo's Cafe upstairs with amazing Ocean view. We had dinner every night in a different restaurants in nearby places by the beach. Our favorite was Step In Bar & Restaurant, about 20 minutes away by easy walk on the beach. We also ordered from Pishi Restaurant and Bahari pizza. Both restaurant delivered to our Beach House. Remember to bring your own soap, shampoo etc. But it would be nice, if little soaps were provided specially at the arrival. Right behind tho Mango Beach House, there is Jambiani Village. We walked every day in the village and bought our water. Village people are so poor and sooo friendly with a big flashing smile. I fell in love with them. I would love to come back to this beautiful place and stay longer. Thank you Kiddo.

My friend and I stayed here for three nights after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro as a way to unwind, relax, and treat ourselves. It was absolutely perfect--wonderful room, drinks, and food, and the most intense tides we've ever seen. Kiddo was a wonderful host and great to hang out with, the entire staff was so friendly and laid-back. As soon as we got there we decided to cancel the other hotel we'd booked for the second and third nights and stayed for our whole time on Jambiani Beach!

Kiddo's place was a jackpot for my needs. Amazing weather and food from the restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. After Kilimanjaro hiking an affordable and peaceful spot for recovery. I booked the bungalow facing the ocean and I made no mistake! Went fishing with the boys and restaurant ladies made the catch to a meal! Thank you for having me!
