Samode Haveli

The Samode was probably our favourite hotel on the whole of our 3 week trip to India! It is a truly gorgeous place with beautiful bedrooms, courtyards, gardens, bars and lounges where you can spend quiet time. We also loved the sundowner rooftop bar and enjoyed a very atmospheric combination of flying black and white kites, birds, illuminated buildings and the callings to prayer from the mosque and Diwali fireworks. The pool, jacuzzi and changing facilities were excellent and the gym and spa looked good (even though we didn’t manage to use them) The shops were great too The restaurant in the courtyard was magical with nicely spaced tables, beautiful lights and a fantastic old banyan tree. Each night we enjoyed evening musical entertainment. The maitre d gave excellent advice on menu & drink choices and saved us from over ordering at least twice! All the food was delicious - both dinner and a fabulous spread for breakfast Shivani was a lovely meet and greet person when we arrived and she gave us a quick and informative spin around the hotel once we had freshened up We took the hotel morning walk with one of the staff Sujit and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the city wake up, the temple and the milk, flower, fruit and veg markets plus a stop for some Chai and street food - Sujit was a great guide and shared his knowledge and love of the city. He also introduced us to time lapse which was enlightening in the flower and veg markets The hotel location was great to see all the sights of the Pink city

We prefer to stay in heritage properties when in India. The service at this hotel was not good. When we arrived, the doorman called the front desk to alert him. Unfortunately we stood in the courtyard wondering where to check in as there was no one around. Finally we found the correct doorway. The gentleman who checked us in was neither warm or welcoming. The balcony was lovely, the room lacked charm. Unless you enjoy looking at photos of piles of dead tigers. The bed wasn’t comfortable. No plugs or usb outlets next to the bed. Being a heritage property is no excuse. The mattress which lived next to our elevator for three days? Unimpressed. Will definitely return to the Johri next time.

Posto meraviglioso, accoglienza incredibile, camere super confortevoli: un’oasi in mezzo al caos della città!!! La piscina è l’idromassaggio riscaldato sono meravigliosi, ma la cosa che più mi ha colpito è il giardino e la terrazza dove si fa colazione: superbi!!!

A beautiful hotel located in the Old City of Jaipur. The hotel is a a restored old large house made up of several sections. Our suite was spacious and well designed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good (not amazing), and their room service was also good. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the concierge helped with restaurant reservations. HOWEVER, noise is a real problem there. One reason is the stone floors which results in noise resonating to adjoining rooms and those from above. Doors closing, furniture being moved, luggage being dragged and loud talking can all be heard. The other reason is the call to prayers from nearby Mosques. There is no way to avoid this, but at around 05:00 it is not appreciated. Think carefully if you are affected by noise pollution.

We had the most wonderful stay. The hotel and gardens are beautiful, the food delicious and the staff very accommodating. The concierge was excellent and very helpful. The hotel driver Mr Singh, really made our stay- he is an excellent driver, very knowledgeable and professional and he went out of his way to make our stay a very special one. We felt very well looked after.

Lovely hotel, really friendly and helpful staff, nice selection of yummy food, and loved the pool and rooftop bar too….though Slightly disappointed that there were no nibbles available or cocktails at rooftop.Beautiful setting, staff could have been more helpful too, and the music kept crackling through. Reason for the 4 stars is the night noise, which might not be the hotel but the fireworks went on well after midnight, they were really loud, and went on for ages! Being in the old town, near other hotels and during the wedding season, this can happen, but wow, it really affected us! No wonder they provided ear plugs in bedrooms!
