Fox Jaffna

This is one of the best options to stay in Jaffna. It’s not in the city centre, more on the outskirts of the city , there’s nothing around, so you basically plan your time in the resort. The hotel itself is nice , the rooms look a bit old but clean , there was no hot water in our room. The territory of the hotel is beautiful with the pool , restaurant, little museums to visit (ex bunkers). The food in the restaurant is yummy , the staff is friendly and polite, especially Scotty , he was very helpful and nice to us during our stay. Good experience at this hotel, just the water situation in the rooms should be improved.

We visited the hotel for dinner on the 13th of March for the first time. Amith took very good care of us & made sure we had a super dining experience. He was attentive to our needs & made us feel at home. His PR was excellent. Food was excellent, especially the crabs. Ambience was amazing. Shane from the Reception gave us a warm welcome & showed us around the hotel. His detailed descriptions, especially of the museum, gave us a thorough insight into the hotel. We absolutely loved our three night stay here. The room, in a newly opened building, was very good, with a comfortable bed, excellent "showcase"  bathroom and all the amenities we needed. The garden setting was beautiful, and the food good, with plenty of choice, although a few more "non Sri Lankan" options would have been nice as my wife hates "curry". However what really set the Fox apart was the staff, at all levels, who were friendly, efficient and professional.  A special mention should go to "AK" (Amith?) who took the trouble to remember our food and drink preferences, and spent time chatting about local places of interest, history etc and our plans for the rest of this trip.  He is a real credit to the hotel, as are his colleagues. The art display and historical photographs in the underground bunkers were an additional element that added to our stay.   The Fox is a little out of the centre, not really walking distance, but that wasn't an issue for us. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and it  has our strong recommendation if you plan to stay in Jaffna.
