The hotel and Staff, excepting the bookkeeping/ management. were great. My complaint is the hotels cancellation of reservations for 4 rooms for 10 days were made on July 12, 2024 through Expedia/AARP. First day payment for the rooms was credited that day. Final payment was scheduled for check in on February 10. On February 9, the hotel cancelled the reservation for nonpayment, 24 hours before we could check in. They said all payments would be refunded. No reason was given for cancellation for nonpayment before the payment was due or why they had money to refund. Communications was extremely poor. I got different stories from 3 people. I was finally told they would hold 4 rooms. They said they would call or email, then I got a WhatsApp message (Luckly I have WhatsApp on my phone) that a colleague was wrong and they would cancel if we were not there by 3 pm, this was after I had offered many times during our conversations to pay the entire amount over the phone and was told it was not necessary. Good news was they had 4 rooms when we got there. The manager's response to the early without notification cancellation was indifference. Her response was if they owed us any money it would be refunded. Np apology or concern that the anxiety of not having rooms for 7 people for 10 days ruined 2 days of my vacation.
