Sleep Inn & Suites Jacksonville Near Camp Lejeune

Me and my family were trying to get a beach vacation and found this little gem in Jacksonville. I usually stay at hotels in this chain and love them - this did not disappoint. This hotel is close to restaurants, shopping, and Camp Lejeune and no more than an hour away from Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, and Fort Macon. Let me tell you about why you should check out this hotel. The front desk knows their customer service and made us feel welcome when we arrived after spending the day at Atlantic Beach. Although we booked through a third-party vendor, the room that I booked was perfect for us. The breakfast the next morning was the perfect start to a morning. There is enough room for everyone and the selection and hospitality was spot on. The bed sleeps great and there were enough pillows for me (I can sleep with more than two pillows!) I cannot begin to recommend this property if you have family members at Camp Lejeune or want to visit our beautiful beaches. Please check them out!

The hotel is so so. Needs to be updated some. Beds are comfortable. Pool needs to be cleaned. Some of the employees are nice. Probably would not stay here again. Fridge doesn’t stay cold. Air conditioning unit had a broke vent. They will clean everyday

ROACHES & INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT! DO NOT STAY HERE! Multiple issues including roaches that the hotel could not care less about and horrible managers who avoid speaking with customers to resolve issues. In addition to the roaches, my bill was incorrect & it took several weeks for them to fix. I called repeatedly over multiple weeks to speak with a manager and was constantly told they'd call me back but didn't. When I called, the manager was always "on the other line" or not there. With all the runaround, I called the corporate office who gave me the General Manager's contact info, but he also never got back to me. Corporate was unable to help in any way as they said the hotel is basically independent. When I experienced roaches at a quality establishment and informed them via a satisfaction survey, the manager called to apologize and comped me a free night. At Sleep Inn I couldn't get anyone helpful on the phone ever. Horrible customer service and Pests!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our first room was horrible. The smoke detector was beeping. We were told to unhook it. There were stains on the sheets, the lamps were rusted out, the floor had not been vacuumed, and the room had not been dusted for months. The bathroom door did not shut all the way, the tub had pink water residue and chipping paint. The ceiling had mold on it and a hole were the fire sprinkler had been replaced but not done do correctly. The toilet was so close to the sink you could wash your hands while using the bathroom. We asked to move rooms and our second room was barely in better shape. The ceiling had a large brown stain on it, there were stains on the sheets, we found napkins in the sheets from a fast food restaurant, and the fixtures were falling apart. The beds were small. We had double bed room which consisted of 2 full size mattresses. Which is only big enough for 1 person to sleep comfortably. The beds were lifted high off the floor. All of my family members are almost 6 ft tall and we struggled to get on the beds while the toilets were close to the ground. The breakfast area was dirty and the majority of the tables were unstable. Guests were trying to find tables that they could use safely. Customer service was poor. While they gave us a different room there was no apology or anything. They simply told us to see if that second room would work for us. I paid almost 350.00 for poor service, poor rooms, poor breakfast for 4 days and 3 nights

As some reviewers have noted, the hotel is clean. I had some noisy neighbors in an adjoining room but that's not the hotel's fault. My keycard didn't wok on return to the hotel each time, but the front desk was helpful in fixing it. The breakfast area had some eggs and sausages but they were out when I arrived, wish they refilled those more often, but they did have other good alternatives. I'd stay here again.

Because of the Hotel Manager Jackie I will not be staying ever .She fabricates lies against guest who disagrees with her and dislikes her service. I’ve seen two previous post against her and her rebuttals against Mr. Turner. She’ s very nasty and sneaky and a very bad asset towards choice Hotels. I believe Mr. Turner said he would not stay there any more nor will I. So how can you ban someone who has said they will not stay at your hotel and any longer? Then call another hotel that’s 2stars better than the Sleep Inn you manage only for the Hilton to accept Mr. Turner with open arms and he’s a Gold member. This told me to dig deeper . For I stayed here last year a few times with no incident however I noticed a decline in how the rooms looked and the hospitality from when I first stayed here 4 years ago. So I found that a family back in July of 2022 who written a review on 7/29/22 against Jackie had a similar review as Mr. Turner and myself. Don’t believe me? Check it out! Is this a coincidence that reviews months apart by two different parties ,mentions Jackie’s name and said their stay was horrible due to management ? I don’t think so. This says a lot and backs Mr. Turner’s review in my eyes. If choice Hotels and or Sleep Inn is reading this along with Trip Advisor I believe the Manager at this property should be investigated. I also believe Jackie should be relieved that Mr. Turner did not decide to take legal action

I will not be staying here ever again! Where do I start? Well lets start with the unprofessional acting manager who called herself “Jackie”. Who was out of uniform and not wearing a name tag whom mis represented ‘Choice hotels” horribly and told me after I said , I can just go down to the Hilton to get better service , told me that Sleep Inn does not need me to stay there=(. Very poor choice of words to a guest who simply had a disagreement with her handling me “the consumer”. In a industry that simply struggled during covid lock downs and is slowly making a come back. The issue with Jackie (acting manager) was not using her position to use better judgement. She bang on my door twice while I was in the shower trying to enter the room after I had already stayed there for two days and called down to the front desk 30 min prior to relay that I would be staying over &paying for two more days after I showered. Now remember not only have I stayed at hundreds of hotels through out this country ,I’ve also worked in the Hotel industry at one time and know the leeway in “late check-outs”. Except remember I was not checking out here . So after I get out the shower to come pay for the room she talks to me like I was her step child not a current guest . While other guest on looking watching her yell at me ,telling me Im the one with the attitude. So I tried to remind her I’m the customer & guest that I’ve received apology letters with full refunds from Choice hotels in the past for unacceptable stays. However me saying this enraged her even more. So I said I would be writing a review. Now after she said that she didn’t need me there and I said ill go to the Hilton. The Hilton told me she called down to the Hilton and told them not to give me a room ( Like who does that?lol) because according to Jackie I was going to try to get a free room..lol Well the Hilton laughed it off and said they were glad to have me there. Why? Well I’m a Gold member and I’ve stayed there many times before just read my past reviews=) Well Jackie was not done yet. So I get a call from the VP of my trucking company..lol I’m thinking finally I’m getting a raise! Lol.. NOPE. Jackie the acting manager at Sleep Inn acts like she’s cleaning the parking lot to get the name off the company truck I had parked at hotel to try I guess ? get me in trouble? I don’t know? Bottom Line The VP asked me did i pay for the room or did we? I said me Sir. After i said that he didn’t want to hear anymore..lol. Because it was ludicrous she would call to get them involved in my personal matters. So after that i contacted Choice Hotels and Price line to file a complaint and will write the CEO. Overall the rooms are okay although my last stay I wouldn’t recommend room 208 because you can here banging from pipes through the walls. Also the fire alarm was hanging from wall .I don’t like it there because it just feels like you’re being watched in the rooms with various unpatched holes and bathroom ve

My family and I have stayed at this hotel every year for the past 5 years and this time it was absolutely terrible. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk, we waited for over 10 mins before someone finally went to find the front desk woman who was “outside checking on something”. The pool was apparently “closed” though we were able to walk in the gate and get in, we weren’t told the pool was closed for the season until we had already swam then the front desk told us we should be fine and wasn’t sure the last time the pool was cleaned but we should be okay with the filters running. One of my family members had to move rooms because there was so much mold on the ceiling in their room. We had mold on the ceiling in our bathroom. It looked like they had just painted over the mold rather than remediating it. There were bugs crawling on my dresser in my room. A gentleman at breakfast found a bug in his waffle. Our AC leaked all over the floor. I could seriously go on. This hotel was absolutely disgusting. My family and I all decided we will never be going back here.

We were on our way home from a visit to the northeast and booked this on our way. The price was great. Our room was rather small (a full size bed) but it was clean. You could tell it was an older hotel but no problem for an overnight stay. We were really surprised at the breakfast the next morning. So many choices. We got a good night’s sleep and we’re home in three hours.
