Rodos Palace Hotel

Huone kunnostettiin täydellisesti täydellisellä näköalalla, mutta lämpötila ilmastointi maksimissaan oli 27-29 astetta Minibaarissa ei ollut jäähdytystä ollenkaan Kun valitin, he sanoivat minulle, että se ei ole jääkaappi ironisesti vastaanotossa ja teknikon jälkeen huomattiin, että sitä ei korjattu ennen kuin lähdimme. Huoneessa oli kahvinkeitin, joka sisältyy hintaan, mutta meiltä veloitettiin lopussa kahvi 5 tähden hotellissa kalliilla yöhinnoilla. Hississä ei ollut ilmastointia ja se oli kaasukammio 17. kerrokseen asti, jossa yöpyimme Hotellin supermarket veloitti minulta 10 minuuttia ylimääräistä tupakka-askia, jonka ostin, koska hän ei anna kortilla, kuten hän kertoi ja näytti minulle käsin kirjoitetun kirjeen. Yleensä 70-80 mentaliteetti, joka ei millään tavalla oikeuta hänen syytöksiään

Before going to Rodos palace I was really apprehensive after reading a lot of 1* reviews. It’s not a 1* star review hotel, but it’s not a 5* Rooms Yes, the rooms beneath the 7th floor are dated, but they’re clean and if you don’t spend much time in the room, they’ll do. Buffet/Food Some days there was a big queue for the buffet, probably 2 of the 7 days we were there we had to wait, but was never more than 20 mins and we were a party of 13. The food was ok. Sun loungers Yes, it does get very busy and there’s not a massive amount, but we managed to get at least 10 together everyday. The worst thing about this hotel is easily the drinks situation. They’re served in paper cups and every single drink is espresso sized - meaning you’re constantly at the bar. We were told off for ordering 20 drinks a time (2 people ordering 2 each for the group) because we were ‘creating a queue’ where the alternative was 10 of us going to the bar and also creating a queue. If drinks were served in cups that didn’t disintegrate and were big enough to last more than 2 sips we wouldn’t need to constantly be at the bar. The pool bar staff were absolute heroes though, especially the female. She was always happy and made great drinks - albeit in tiny cups. Also, don’t pay for all inclusive plus if your travel agent offers it - the hotel automatically upgrades everyone as they only do one board type now and love holidays weren’t aware so won’t refund our £160 as they didn’t know all inclusive plus wasn’t a thing at this hotel anymore. Would stay again if they reviewed the drink situation.

Visited Rhodes for my Honeymoon with my Wife, intially was met with disappointment as i had booked the wrong room, speaking to reception due to the popularity of the resort the premium rooms were fully booked up. When speaking to Brina the PR Manager and explaining the situation she assured me she’ll make this Honeymoon perfect. She liased with Andrea the GR Manager and by the next day we’ve been moved to a Beautiful room overlooking the Sea, the staff are extremely accomadating regarding food and drinks and making the stay special. The amenties provided by the hotel such as the Spa, Swimming facilities were clean and a very good standard and the entertainment provided was vibrant and different everyday which made each evening enjoyable. I would defenitely reccomend to anyone wishing to spend a getaway with their partner. I would like to thank Brina and Andrea once again for making my honeymoon unforgetable.

I’ll start with the negatives first. The ceiling in the indoor pool in filthy with mould all over it. Looks nice at night but in the day it’s disgusting. We had a day of rain and the ceiling had leaked water through all over the floor You get 2 coffee pods in your room and 2 coffee sachets if you want anymore you have to pay. We had a leak in our ceiling one night and the dripping kept us awake, maintenance came up to look at 1am but said there was nothing they could do till the morning. Staff are rude. Constantly queuing for bar, dinner and lifts. Not enough staff. Terrible selection of food. Not enough sunbeds around the pool. Hotel is dated and grubby. One toaster in dining room at breakfast so queuing for that. Waiting 20 minutes for waiter to bring coffee to table in the morning because the dining hall is so big and not enough staff serving. The area is a bit run down but had a nice walk into the old town one day. Entertainment is terrible. One tiny stage. There is no pool side snack bar. Do not pay extra for all inclusive plus it’s the same as all inclusive. Only certain drinks are all inclusive the rest you pay for. Walls in rooms are very thin so can hear everything next door. No kettle just a coffee machine which is so loud I couldn’t put it on in the morning if my husband was asleep as I didn’t want to wake him. Only English channels are bbc news and sky news. Positives the room was lovely ( apart from leaking ceiling) We had sea view which was nice but the road is very noisy. This is not a 5 star hotel as stated, it’s a 3 at most.

We’ve just come back from 4 nights here. For reference we stayed in room 502 on 5th floor. The bed was insanely comfortable. The rooms are basic but perfectly acceptable. My only grumble would be there is only 1 plug socket and it’s not next to the bed so being a multi socket extension lead. The food is typical all inclusive buffet that has to cater for multiple nationalities. I’m fussy and I managed to eat every day. There is an a la carte restaurant which you get 1 free meal in, you have to book 24hrs in advance. You can pay to eat there too if you like. I had the ham and mushroom pizza (they took the mushroom off) and it was delightful. The entertainment during the day is a bit lacking and is around the indoor pool. The evening program from what we saw was really good. The main pool is big but FREEZING. It’s like an ice bath. Not sure if the indoor one is heated as we didn’t go in there. The drinks are genuine Pepsi & Fanta. The local beer is decent and the white wine is nice. They don’t make it clear that cocktails are included in the all inclusive but they are. Iced coffee has to be paid for. You can rent pool towels for a €10 deposit. The room towels are quite small so if you’re larger I’d bring your own. We always managed to get a lounger but you do still get the ****** who go down at the crack of dawn to get the best spots. All in all we got what we wanted which was a 4 night break away from our manic lives and we were happy.

We visited the hotel at the beginning of the season, which is early April. Despite various opinions, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the hotel does not deserve 5 stars. The staff was generally very unhappy and rude; maybe two ladies were nice. There were queues everywhere for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; you wait in queues for a table that is not always clean, you wait for cutlery because it is not always left on the table, and to get a drink with your meal, you also wait for someone to serve you, as there are no drink machines. The food was very monotonous, with only apples, oranges, and pears as fruits—nothing more. You also wait in queues for the elevator because only two are working. When you go to the bar for drinks, you also wait in queues  and receive everything in plastic. The barman at the downstairs bar with billiards was constantly grumpy and unfriendly. After two days of ordering whiskey and prosecco, we were told they were out. Strange things were happening at that bar, works like a completely separate business. Some drinks were served from unlabelled bottles, etc. When it rains, the hotel is like a sieve, with water leaking into the hallways. I can say good things about restaurant ala carte, nice people and good food. The rooms are clean, with no bugs, and the cleaning staff comes every day. Overall, the hotel is being renovated from the top down, so the photos shown in tourist offers are of the renovated rooms. The hotel would have potential if there was better organization and the staff changed their attitude towards hotel guests. I have stayed in other 5-star Greek hotels, and this one does not deserve that rating.
