Latroupe Jardin Secret

We checked into this hotel just before 3 o’clock and were casually told that our room would have no water for an hour because there had been a leak. In fact the room had no water for several hours, not even to flush a toilet or brush your teeth. Things happen. But what was shocking was that the staff were casual to the point of surliness. Because I needed to go to a formal work event, they gave us the key to a different room in a different building where we were able to have a sort of shower (though the shower was broken and the water came out of a hose, but not from the shower-head). That room was not just grubby, like the whole hotel, but also decorated like something out of a Gothic novel. When I asked for a bottle of water to boil the kettle, I was told that I could buy one from a vending machine. This seemed like the last straw. There was no suggestion of a refund our even a discount for our inconvenience, and a single small bottle of water only offered after I complained. An apology did not seem within the rhetorical range of the staff at this dreadful establishment.

Hotel a pochi passi dalla metro ( fermata port de Namur) e ad un quarto d'ora a piedi dal centro. Abbiamo soggiornato lì per tre giorni prendendo anche la colazione. Tutto ottimo: stanza ampia e confortevole con vista sulla piccola piscina e sul giardino ricco di piante e fiori molto curati, bagno con doccia e tutto il necessario ( tranne il bidet ma qui è normale), televisore in camera. Abbiamo dormito benissimo: letti comodi e stanza silenziosa. Personale gentile e accogliente.

This was a nice little hotel with lots of character. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to friends and would stay here again.

The experience wasn’t as good as expected. The entrance is located in a back alley near a garbage collection area, and there was an unpleasant smell when passing by. The room didn’t have a fridge. We booked a garden view room, but during check-in, we were given a room with only a skylight! We had to proactively negotiate with the hotel to get the garden view room we originally booked. If we hadn’t spoken up, we would’ve just had to accept it.

L’hôtel est très charmant, situé dans une artère calme d’une avenue mouvementée. Le côté « secret » est surprenant et on y découvre un jardin joliment pensé. La chambre dont nous avons disposé était spacieuse, avec une déclaration minimaliste et épurée. Literie confortable, sdb suffisante. Quelques petites fissures et modifications peuvent être apportées (porte savon ne tient pas, tuyau de douche pas très pratique) Le buffet petit déjeuner au matin était parfait !

Property was lovely, truly a hidden gem!
