Olimpic Hotel

The cleaner threw my personal belongings into the garbage, including my clothes, under the false assumption that I was checking out—even though I had paid for my entire stay in advance. To make matters worse, my clothes were soaked because someone’s wet men’s underwear had been placed on top of them in a garbage bag. I immediately demanded that my clothes be cleaned and returned within 5 hours, by 22:00 the same day. However, the staff repeatedly failed to meet their own deadlines. First, they promised to return them by 23:30. Then by midnight. Then by 09:00 the next morning. Finally, at 10:30, they handed me my T-shirt and… someone else’s trousers. Since I had a flight to catch, I had no choice but to leave without resolving the issue. I gave the receptionist my post address, expecting them to send my pants once found. Instead, I received a picture later that day—again of pants that weren’t mine. At that point, it became clear they had completely lost my clothing. This was the last straw. I requested compensation for the loss and the stress their negligence caused. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I received an insulting response, questioning if I wasn’t ashamed for even asking for compensation! The staff of Olimpic Hotel is unprofessional, irresponsible, and outright rude. They threw my belongings into the trash, failed to properly clean or return them, and ultimately lost part of my clothing. The sight of my belongings in garbage bags, mixed with trash from other rooms, was shocking and humiliating. On top of that, they refused to provide any financial compensation for the damage caused. This hotel ruined my stay and caused me significant stress. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs! P.S. I am attaching a photo of the table in my room, taken after the cleaning. A handful of long black hair was left on the table, showing the lack of proper cleaning standards.

La posizione dell'hotel è il suo punto di forza, in mezzo a Sultanahmet, 200 metri dalla Moschea Blu e 10 minuti a piedi dal Gran Bazar. Camere non grandissime, con qualcosa da sistemare, bagno abbastanza spazioso, ma comunque tutto pulitissimo. Per la colazione all'ultimo piano si gode di una bella vista ed è abbastanza buona, c'è poco per chi la fa solamente dolce, ma il resto è abbondante e buono. Personale cortese. Se non avete troppe pretese va benissimo vista anche la spesa più che onesta

Aspetti positivi: La posizione è sicuramente il punto forte di questo hotel. A piedi ed eventualmente in tram si va ovunque, la fermata del tram è molto vicina. Di fronte all'hotel c'è un piccolo supermercato e nella zona ci sono diversi ristoranti. Ben funzionanti il wi-fi e il condizionatore in camera. Noi non abbiamo problemi a fare una colazione salata, quindi siamo rimasti soddisfatti perché varia, ma chi predilige una colazione dolce potrebbe avere problemi a riguardo. Sopra alla sala colazione c'è una terrazza con una bellissima vista. Aspetto negativi: La pulizia lasciava decisamente a desiderare: quando siamo arrivati (era l'una di notte) il bagno della stanza era stato usato (il water, la saponetta, e nella pattumiera c'era un mozzicone di sigaretta). Inoltre, il terzo giorno (sui quattro di soggiorno) la stanza non è stata né rifatta né pulita. Il materasso aveva delle macchie, le luci della stanza non funzionavano tutte. Abbiamo chiesto un secondo cuscino, in quanto uno dei due era molto basso, ma ci è stato detto che non era disponibile e quindi ci siamo dovuti arrangiare con un asciugamano messo sotto. Avevamo chiesto se il giorno del check-out sarebbe stato possibile avere qualcosa di veloce per colazione un po' prima delle 8:00 (orario di inizio della colazione) in quanto alla stessa ora dovevamo prendere il taxi per l'aeroporto ma ci è stato detto di no, che l'orario della colazione era tassativo (quindi niente colazione l'ultimo giorno).

Breakfast is excellent. The workers are close to the soul. There is always hot and cold water. Rooms are cleaned on time. Negative rooms are small. There is no water, tea or coffee in the rooms. You have to buy it yourself from the market. Repair

Ayhan, café manager is phenomenal! Helpful, professional! We love spending time with her every morning. Thank you! The hotel is mid range and pretty close to everything but if you have hard time walking up and down the cobblestone, I would suggest another hotel. My relatives had bad knees, so it was hard to walk, if you are looking for a moderate it is good. the managers are very helpful.

We stayed at this hotel in June for 3 nights. I booked 4 nights, but due to our flight being cancelled from Singapore, we arrived a day later and therefore, only stayed there for 3 nights. I booked through *********** and was prepared to pay for 4 nights. However, the owner said that I paid cash, he would not charge me for the night we didn't stay at the hotel. I paid him in cash what he asked for. When I got home last month, I realised that he also charged my Credit Card for the 4th night. I contacted the owner and asked for a refund. He simply ignored me despite trying a few times. I disputed the transaction with my bank, but they say that it was too late to dispute it. So, I am out of pocket AUD150. That aside, the hotel is in excellent location. Rooms are ok. Breakfast is terrible. On our last morning, we went out to eat breakfast as we couldn't imagine eating that same terrible breakfast again, third morning in a row.
