The Inn @ Aird a' Bhasair

Lovely comfy hotel in a beautiful often missed corner is Skye, literally two minutes from the ferry. Rooms were comfortable, ours had stunning views across the sea to the mainland. Food good with a wide variety and changing specials including seafood. The venison fillet special was declared the best ever!

After a long day around the Isle of Skye, we thought, given the time and the remote places we were in, we would fast. Fortunately, while we were wandering around, now resigned, we asked a very kind guy for information, who was going for a walk with his daughters. He recommended The Inn Àird to 'Bhàsair and so we stopped there for dinner. Very nice place in classic Old England style. The young and kind staff made us sit in a separate room, because the main one was already full and there were hotel guests. My husband ordered the sea trout, I ordered the mussels then the ling. Both dishes included mashed potatoes, broccoli and green beans. To finish we ordered a cheese platter including a fantastic Oak Smoked Arran cheese!! Everything delicious!! The price was average of other places we ate but the food was really well cooked. Advised!!

We booked here having changed our touring plans at the last minute. So we were pleased to get a room but disappointed. Here’s the good bits : stunning views, good sized car park, very friendly and helpful staff, evening meals available and our meal was ok, very clean room. Less good: room was expensive (£200 for one night in June), lumpy mattresses need replacing, our room was above the kitchen at the back - so odour from deep fried food permeated the room when the window was open and noisy from the kitchen being used until 10pm and again at 7am.
