Lews Castle

Both Lews castle itself, the surrounding grounds and the hotel rooms are beautiful. The staff were exceptional. From the cafe staff to the night porters the customer service was outstanding. Would absolutely recommend a visit/stay.

Our 3rd stay at lews in a 1 bed apartment. Beautiful view iver the harbour and forest. The new managers Christina and Matt are brilliant. You must realize this is not a hotel but well furnished rooms/apartments in a 1860 castle. Well furnished and the Stagg sought to supply what was missing in the kitchen. 10 minute walk to the coop grocery or restaurants in the center. Great parking . We will return as stormoway and the Isle are dear to us. Thanks!

I wanted to gift my family the experience of a stay at a castle in Scotland. Lews Castle did not disappoint. It’s such a beautiful castle set amidst lush surroundings and a great view of Stornoway Harbor. The apartments and rooms were so beautiful, well decorated, so modern and functional, yet homely. It was stocked even with books, games and everything that made this home away from home. But it’s not just the beauty of the castle and the modern rooms that we love. The service was A1. What I would genuinely consider the epitome of Scottish hospitality under the leadership of its General Manager Christina Smith whose positive vibe and desire to delight has inspired her staff from the shop to the cafe to render the same excellent service. I am so thankful for their making Lews Castle the highlight of our vacation in Scotland.

We were looking forward to this 2 night stay and we were certainly very impressed. The attention to detail was amazing, things like the books to read that were left in the room, the games to play and the blue tooth speaker for guests to use. We had the Matheson Suite, it was perfect and we had so much room to ourselves. The furniture was comfortable, the beds were amazing, the view out across the front of the castle is amazing too. We are planning on going back soon, might make an excuse of celebrating our anniversary to book it. The Manager was lovely and very professional too.
