Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort

A very large resort a small supermarket but if not all inclusive would be a problem as to getting cabs to the local town could get expensive Night life for kids good but adults cannot even seat outside in the evening s with a drink as pool bar closes at 6 pm Unless you go to the payable restaurants and champs sports bar not very good if paid for all inclusive We was in block 7 but as there are still steps to the lift if getting on a bit would be a problem as me and my wife 70 and 65 years Overall as we had our son his wife and 3 small grandchildren but they 4 minutes walk away why we wasn’t put nearer each other one would never know but we did not book at the same time they were near the reception and dinning room but did have a few cockroaches in there room trying to use the microwave Overall good resort large pools

Visited the hotel in early September for a week with my boyfriend. Arrived around mid day - was told our room would be ready for 3pm which it was. We did have to lug our suitcases from reception to the last block up hill, when there was buggies available? The room was lovely and clean. We had a pool view room in block 6 which had a view of the pool and sea. Room was very big, the beds were very comfy - probably the best hotel bed I’ve slept in, the maids did a fab job everyday giving us fresh towels and cleaning the room. The food all round was very good. Found lunch to be poor some days however breakfast and dinner never disappointed us. Always fresh salads, lovely selection of cheese and always having pasta, chips and nuggets for the ones that are fussy. Snack bar was also great having a great selection. The drinks. We loved the slush cocktails especially the strawberry daiquiri’s - sometimes the que for a drink was quite long but staff serve quickly. In the evening the slushy cocktails weren’t available but they did a selection of other cocktails that were nice too. My boyfriend enjoyed the AI cruz campo. Easy to book excursions in the hotel, staff are friendly and well organised ( the lady on the active side) All staff in the hotel have been friendly and attentive. My boyfriend used the gym during our stay and said it was excellent - he trains CrossFit so the gym was perfect for that. We did not go royal, we stayed in the active side, however did eat in the royal side some days. You have access to both pools, the resort is huge. . The only downside to this hotel is the sunbed wars - some people here behave like animals. The pool opens at 9 so if you want choice of a good sunbed you need to be there by 8:50, however this does not stop some rude people barging through the barrier and acting like animals to get a sunbed. Staff do not police the no reserving sunbeds very well, as people leg it under the rope before 9am when reserving is allowed. Other than the sunbed issue we had a a lovely stay and would return. Not much to do around the hotel but if you just want to chill it’s perfect.

After staying at the hotel back in 2022 having a great winter break we decided to return. We checked in and upgraded to all inclusive which was £25 each per day. This was well worth it for food and drinks included all day soft drinks can be expensive so this worked for us. The rooms are tired cleaning needs more attention to detail. Especially skirting and wardrobes need attention. Al carte Restaurant disappointing la dolce vita food very poor and service not very organised. Don’t waist your money. The buffet restaurant and pool bar were excellent and good quality food served. Good facilities gym and pool areas. We have visited a few Barcelo hotels over the past few years and find them good for our breaks- unfortunately we will not return to the active resort again.

July family trip. Excellent hotel generally clean, good food, rooms good, everything works, great sports facilities, animation team good, huge choice of food on the all inclusive. Minor Gripes Sunbed F1 as usual A.I drinks - you need to play the game a bit between the two bars. The included drinks on either side of the road can be different. D.J - some nights after the animation entertainment they put a dj on who does his set with no thought given to his audience. He obviously has a finish time 12? when the all inclusive finishes and literally switches everything off and does one.... It would be nice if the dj set went on past the end of the A.I serving and people could pay for their drinks its like it just getting going, then he does. Hotel is a 30min walk from teguise and there is nowhere to go bar wise around the hotel and no beach which is why i chose to stay in middle of teguise when i went back in October. Wish i had stayed here really and paid the taxi fares....
