Premier Inn Inverness West

Arrived at Breakfast to find out that the full breakfast was unavailable and only Continental was on offer. Viewed what was on offer and nearly all the choices were gone. Ended up driving to a local cafe to eat. After a nice day enjoying the local area we came back at 1800 to find out we couldn't back a table as the restaurant was full and we would have to travel to the city centre for a meal. Absolutely shocking that a resident can't get a cooked meal in the establishment they are staying at.

Friendly welcome. When entering room bed, bedding & pillows a mess, bed not made properly, sheet to small, pillows not comfortable. Room was clean but tired. Hotel needs attention in several areas. Food not great, cooked breakfast poor quality & not appetising,needed to ask staff for trays to be refilled also had to ask for milk, plates & cutlery. More empty containers not being filled for cereal & fresh fruit. Evening meal we noticed several customers returning meal. Our main meal was ready but we were still eating starters. It wasn't great. Too few staff for hotel. We did speak with Isabella following day about issues. She was friendly, understanding and accepted there were issues in kitchen. Our breakfasts were refunded & she had our bed made up properly. Unfortunately we felt our stay was very disappointing as we have stayed in several Premier Inns previously but it did waste our long overdue break away.

On arrival at the entrance of the hotel, I honestly thought the hotel was closed as it looked derelict and untidy, the carpark is at the back again the parking looks unkempt and rather untidy, the cigarette station is overflowing with butt's and they are lying on the ground not a great welcome. The receptionist was very helpful check in was easy. The lift had mud and general mess on Friday it was still there Sunday, the carpet on level 2 is very frayed at the edges and needs cleaned. The room was fine but the toilet seat needs a clean between the lid and seat. Room was nice and warm bed comfortable. We had dinner both nights nothing is really home made the pies are all brought in, in bulk but I have to say the chicken and ham pies was amazing, the 2nd night in the restaurant was so slow and a few items missing as no delivery had arrived we spoke to the 1 waitress and she informed us she was the only person working as management says that's all that's needed with help from the person on reception and the bar man, both who have their own jobs to do in between which is shocking management need to be there to see 1 person can't do everything or get in and help out. Breakfast again was short staffed and the areas were very messy especially round the coffee and hot food, it wasn't very appetising and I observed and took my hands over the balustrade in the middle of the room and removed months worth of dust it was so thick. My husband used the public toilets upstairs from the restaurant he said they were disgusting 🫣. All staff really nice and helpful, rooms ok but management need a shake up open your eyes and observe what you're expecting your staff to do.

Rooms and value for money good but don’t count on getting fed or enjoying an evening meal in a pleasant environment. Restaurant struggled to manage a few evening covers and overall service was poor during evening meal. They refused to serve my guest because they were not a hotel guest. Much better for breakfast which had fewer but different staff. Maybe a bad day but management training needed

It scored higher as the location was so good for the Inverness half marathon which I was traveling for. So the good points. If you are traveling for the half marathon or 5k it's perfect. Its walking distance to the leisure centre and you can leave car in car park. The hotel however is very tired. Doesn't appear to have had the premier inn upgrade yet so rooms are very dated. Check in staff were rather grumpy and unwelcoming. The room was a family room and as you can see from pictures was very tight for space. The carpet was lifting from the ground and all in all just needed a bit of a modernisation. No usual USB plugs. We were only staying for one night thankfully as could hear every movement from upstairs. The restaurant was really busy and food took ages to come. We couldn't get a reservation until 730 and food took about an hour. With young children this wasn't great. Thankfully we had brought a pack of cards to keep them amused as nothing was offered by staff. Again staff were very unfriendly and unengaging. Food was average and a bit disappointing. I stay in premier inns a lot with work and normally meal deal is a winner but I was left bit underwhelmed. Breakfast was also busy and queues for toasters coffee machines etc as to be expected on race day. There was no water and I had to ask to get it refilled. When we checked out no one was at desk to ask how are stay was or I would have said to them. There are better premier inns in Inverness than this one.

The pub is w@nk. Terrible. What a bag of hit. I would advise nobody to ever stay there. Probably sh!!!!!t hotel I have ever stayed in. Food is bland and tasteless. Service rubbish due to lack of management. Manager needs ducking off ir retraining.
