Brambles of Inveraray

We were greeted at the door by a woman shouting across the cafe, table for 3???? We said no only 2 and in a very unwelcoming manner said SIT ANYWHERE that was it no hello or have you been before couldn’t have cared less whether we ate or not. We then sat for 20 mins before we had to catch someone’s eye to take our order, it seemed to all be a chore, it was hot and busy but still it was pretty bad service. Hubby ordered coffee but it never arrived they did ask once we’d finished our food if he wanted it but it was too late. Food was not as stated on the menu, i did question it and got one of my drinks taken off the bill which was kind but even that seemed to annoy the staff, we then had to wait again to pay and wait and wait! What we ate was okay but def wont recommend as far as customer service goes, real shame.

This is NOT an ordinary cafe/bistro. The quality of……everything is top notch. The atmosphere is so welcoming and all of the staff are so thoughtful, kind natured and really make sure you’re entirely happy with your seating and food. Heather and another young man were particularly impressive in their conduct. I noted to Heather that the sheer amount and very high quality of their food was restaurant standard. She informed us that the owner also has a hotel/restaurant and feels that everyone should experience the same qualities no matter what venue of the Brambles they visit is as good! If you’re up in the Inverayay area, treat yourselves here - you’ll want to visit again many times. Paul & Family, on Holiday.

We came for lunch after getting the ferry back from Islay, heading between Kennacraig and Glasgow. The food was absolutely fantastic, a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and coffees, and other hot food. Food cooked to absolute perfection - tasty, great portion sizes. Service extremely personable and friendly (we were served by Heather). Can’t wait to come back on my next trip to Islay!

Visited Brambles for cake/ coffee mid afternoon with my husband - coffee shop was less than moderately busy with several free tables and 3 members of staff including barista. An elderly couple sat across - lady had a stick The gentleman stood to leave and his partner also but slowly/ hesitantly A member of staff was straight over and in the middle of the two , clearing the table - the elderly lady was then able to leave - we were both shocked as a few minutes grace and a smile would have made a difference My husband finished his coffee and this was whipped away by the same staff member despite the fact that my cup was half full - both felt rushed and uncomfortable Asked the barista 3 times who was in charge - seemed to find this amusing - then indicated colleague (European accent) She ( ? manager)seemed bewildered but barista said they were “trained” to clear tables immediately I explained that it is important to be mindful/ considerate especially where elderly customers concerned She repeated that owner had trained them in such and “ maybe times have changed” Still found this amusing A young lady at the counter witnessed this and later indicated her disbelief when I encountered her later in another local shop. We honestly have never experienced such disregard before and I cannot believe they have been trained to respond like this One member of staff however brought us our coffee was pleasant/ polite and said a cheery thank you as we left - other than this ZERO

I am so thankful for the wonderful hospitality that I received while I was here! I stopped for a coffee and breakfast sandwich while on a short bus stop. The food was delicious but the service was what blew my mind! I lost track of time and missed the bus departure time and the staff here went far above and beyond to get me back on track! Yred and Allan both offered to drive me to catch up to the bus!! Allan ended up driving me 25 miles away so that I could catch my bus (where I had left my bag)! This is by far the most I've ever felt welcomed by strangers on any trip I've been on! Thank you all so much, and I hope to stay here on a future trip!!

Beautiful hotel. We had an enormous room on the ground floor. The bed was amazing...sooo comfortable. The bathroom again was huge with a very roomy walk in shower and free standing bath. The hotel is in a perfect location in the middle of the main street. The delicious Brambles cafe is across the road. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lots of lovely little shops and cafes near by. Inveraray is beautiful and we will definitely return
