Orka Lotus Beach

I loved my stay. Everything was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the location couldn't have been better. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!

Fantastic hotel and facilities. Our room kept spotless every day by SULTAN. 24 hrs bar, plenty of pools, and the beach is unreal………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………would definitely recommend.

We have just spent a week at the beautiful Orka Lotus Hotel. Our room was compact but modern & clean with plenty of storage & a very nice walk in shower. We only used the main buffet, nice selection of fresh foods, should be something for everyone. They cater on a massive scale & do very well. The serving staff are polite & friendly, particularly Keziban who had a lovely smile for us every day, looked after us & made us feel special. We didn’t use any of the 5 pools but the one near our room was practically empty every day. The real star of the show is the beach & view, hard not to smile every time you see it. The sea is completely landlocked giving the appearance of a lake. We never had any problems getting a sunbed. We asked for a higher up room, I would do this again it appeared more private. The hotel is built into a hillside so be prepared for lots of steps! We weren’t being picked up until 18.20 but there is a luggage store & free use of fresh towels & showers in the spa. Although we checked out at 11am all facilities available until we leave including restaurants & bars. Can’t find any negatives, we would come again. The hotel isn’t brand new & shows some signs of wear. 1 mile walk to Icmeler, 3 1/2 miles to Marmaris, nice flat stroll along the prom. Alternatively buses run every 15 minutes 60p a ride, get the orange bus. Plenty of party boats if that’s your thing! Lots of fake shops, hard sell but with a smile & they like to haggle. Most shops prefer £’s but you’ll need local currency for the buses or just use cards

Location: The location is fab - in between Icmeler and Marmaris, in walking distance of both (look out for the wild boar). The view of the mountains from the beach is beautiful, it is an amazing setting. We had a room overlooking the beach which was nice. The only downside to the beach is the nibbling fish! The hotel: initially the hotel looks fab, very modern, the room was spacious. The atrium/ reception area is great and the patisserie is lovely, and has an amazing view. However the corridors never seemed to have any lights switched on???? And we’re often a bit dirty. The room also wouldn’t get cleaned til about 4/5pm each day. The lifts were an absolute joke, you would be stood there waiting for about 5 minutes or would have to do a lot of walking up /down many flights of stairs - very frustrating! And not very accessible for disabled/ old people. Staff: I found that the bar staff wouldn’t say a simple ‘hello’ or greeting when you would approach the bar and would just stare at you blankly, waiting for you to order, which was a bit rude/ uncomfortable at times. This seemed to be the case across the board for all of the staff - a couple of staff members on reception/ guest relations weren’t the friendliest either. I don’t think this is down to language barrier/ culture difference as I have been to Turkey several times before and never had this experience until now. There were a few staff members that I had short interactions with who were much friendlier and making an effort, however on the whole the staff weren’t very approachable. I understand they have a hard job and probably work long hours however it did feel at times that they really didn’t want to be there. Food: The food was okay, but it wasn’t 5 star quality. It was alright for a week. Some of the meat dishes were chewy, the coffee really wasn’t good and neither were the juices. Desserts weren’t great. I didn’t think the breakfast choices were very good either -especially the cooked breakfast. I have a gluten intolerance and noticed that not all the food had a sign explaining the allergens, and if they did, it wasn’t always clear which dish they belonged to - I feel like this could be a major problem if you were actually allergic! I noticed certain pasta dishes didn’t have the gluten containing symbol whereas the same dish a night later would say it contained gluten. We went to the Italian restaurant one evening which was a positive experience, the staff were polite however we weren’t blown away by the food. Also it sometimes proved difficult to find a clean table at mealtimes. Cabanas: We chose to do a cabana one of the days which was lovely, we got a selection of drinks and food throughout the day and the staff member was friendly. However we did find if we wanted to order a drink we would keep having to chase him up, and it seemed almost like he was avoiding taking drinks orders. We would’ve got a quicker service walking over to the beach bar. Other than that it’s well worth

This is our 8th time at the Orka and as always we had a great time. There was 15 of us this time and Rachel and Bilal as always look after us so well. Bilgin was our waiter most days and his service was first class. The weather was so good for October and we loved spending our days on the beach. Our kids loved the water slides.

Sultan very good housekeeper and very friendly, everything you need in this hotel and will be returning again great hotel would recommend for anyone with familys. Nice food and friendly staff throughout the hotel. See you next year :) :) :)
