Return visit Visited this pub when we last stayed in Fordingbridge 2022 Stunning modern pub, lovely ambience great friendly staff ( same family) exceptionally well cooked Quality food great sized portions & very reasonably priced! I had beef stroganoff very tender slices of beef & incredibly tasty my partner had the steak & ale pie both dishes were so yummy Looking forward to our last visit before we return home

What a fantastic dining experience it was, such wonderful food, such amazing service. Velvet, our principle server, provided a next level experience which elevated the entire experience to something truly special. Try the steak and ale pie, it was beautiful.

We had a fantastic meal for 4 people at the three lions the lady who worked here as bar lady and waitress was lovely (Velvet) lovely name and a great singer thank you we stayed at Sandy balls holiday village and ate ther over the past 3 years and will defiantly come here again next year as we are returning to the holiday village

The friendliest of English hospitality from Velvet and the team last weekend. Great value, food, breakfast and comfortable rooms (need a degree to work the kettle). 2 small comments, not one for ale drinkers and please could all the food outlets across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire bring sugar with coffee and stop using those annoying sauce sachets. They must cost you a fortune and are very un-environmentally friendly and a pain to open. Awesome stay, thanks

We were on our way to Fordingbridge & the owner of our holiday rental recommended stopping here for lunch as we were arriving early. Wow what can I say we were greeted by a lovely young lady so warm & friendly. The menu is really varied we choose 4 of the small plates to share. The warm pork pie, calamari, fries & onions rings everything was cooked perfectly. We were so lucky with the weather & sat outside our food arrived along with the extra drinks that were ordered to arrive at the same time as our food. We will definitely return x

Stopped off at the Lions for lunch, very friendly, accommodating staff and a great location for brisk wall on the edge of the new forest. The walk was a little muddy which made it a bit of work. Had the Farmers Board, great sandwich and bowl of soup. Would visit again when down that way

Passed by here several times whilst driving into the New Forest and decided the next time we did we would have lunch here. So glad we did. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, the presentation certainly had eye appeal and the taste was amazing, so flavoursome. Portions are generous, hence we decided to share the tarte tatin, (not often seen on menus) it was superb. Staff were very welcoming. Will definitely return.

We booked a two night stay sat/sun to have a short break away together. The accommodation was excellent. The hot tub fantastic. We had a well appointed room - lovely and warm. Comfy bed. Little private courtyard garden and large communal space front and back. The staff were exceptional. So friendly and welcoming. Our breakfast was extensive - loads of choice and beautifully presented. We ate both evenings at the restaurant. Huge portions - lovely eating area. Very impressed. Would totally recommend. A little piece of solitude and escapism

Amazing find! We booked this last minute and we struck gold. Warm welcome upon arrival and we were shown to our room. Lovely room with the added bonus of a private garden and hot tub. Some thoughtful little touches of sweets, nice toiletries and a robe and slippers. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal. It’s nicely decorated inside and staff were very welcoming. The food was incredible. Great portion sizes and really tasty. We had breakfast included in our stay. I had eggs Benedict…best I’ve ever had! This is a great pub/hotel. We will definitely be visiting again.
