BODHI'S BAY HOUSE - This home is just a few steps from the private community beach, fully stocked with everything you need to have a great time on the bay. An hour from D.C. and a few minutes drive to fine casual waterfront dining at Solomon’s and Broomes Island. We provide beach towels, umbrellas, beach chairs, a cooler bag and a beach wagon. Also provided, on request, booster seat, playpen for the beach and a pack and play a child can sleep in. Kayaks are available (2 to 4), let us know if you need them. You will also find bed linens, bath towels, kitchen towels and all of the kitchen items needed to prepare a fine meal. A door from the kitchen leads to a screened porch that runs the length of the house. On the beach, search for shark’s teeth from prehistoric sharks that lived in the Chesapeake Bay.* Guests should be aware that there are jellyfish in the Chesapeake Bay in the summer (typically July and August but can be as early as June and late as early September if it’s very hot and dry). They like warm, salty waters so their numbers vary with the rain and tides. Sometimes, there aren’t many jellyfish, depending on time of day or current, but other times there are a lot. And if it has recently rained, they get pushed out to sea and there are none. It is out of our control and really luck of the draw. We recommend to our guests to bring sting-protective sunscreen (available on Amazon) and long sleeve and swim pant swimwear. *Living Room & Kitchen (w/ complimentary coffee and tea):Inside, unwind in the spacious living and dining areas, complete with breathtaking bay views.
