Beautiful lodge in Hot Springs. The Hostel caters to hikers, and is fine, but we opted to pay a few more bucks and stay at the lodge which is much nicer and comes with a continental breakfast. The lodge is beautiful inside and furnished nicely with many antiques. The room was small but comfortable. The shower/bathroom is shared by 3-4 rooms, but that wasn't a problem. Nice breakfast in the morning with gourmet coffee. The only drawback was that the young man who checked people in at the hostel was not very friendly at all.

My wife and I stayed here on Christmas Eve and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lodge also has an interesting history and the staff was more than willing to tell us all about it. There is also a hostel in one corner of the property that is conveniently located right on the Appalachian Trail for hikers. So if you are hiking the AT and only needing a place to stay for the night or if you are on a week-long vacation checking out the surrounding area, you cannot go wrong with the Laughing Heart Lodge and Hostel!

We stayed in The Cardinal Room and it was amazing! The room was beautiful, comfortable and the Mountain View was amazing! The entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed walking around the grounds taking in the beauty.

Stopped by to get shower and our car after hiking the Appalachian trail.. Very accommodating and clean facilities. Highly recommend. Great location. Close to town, restaurants, brew pubs , post office, resupply store, etc. Have list of shuttle drivers as well

Laughing Heart Lodge is a true gem for anybody who wants to unplug, relax and experience true serenity. Every single person who works here goes above and beyond to see to the comfort and happiness of the guests. From the moment you walk in the door you feel as though you are visiting family. The absolute cleanliness of the lodge cannot be overstated. With so much to enjoy in the outdoors around this area, Laughing Heart Lodge is the perfect place to call home for your visit to Hot Springs.

Upon arrival, I was very confused at how to check-in as there was no clear signage. But, other hikers hanging out on the lawn guided me to who I should speak with to check in. I stayed in both the bunk room and a private room and honestly, I would recommend the bunk room unless you absolutely need the privacy of a private room. The private room is of course more money, but the walls are so thin that you might as well be in the bunk room. I liked how many bathrooms/showers there were as I never had too much of an issue finding an open one when I needed one. Easy walk to town and easy access to the trail. Laundry was difficult to get done since there are only 2 washers/2 dryers and they allow anyone to do laundry there (not just hostel guests). Would stay again, though.
