Super 8 by Wyndham Hot Springs

Very friendly staff. Convenient location

Staying in Hot Springs overnight, we ended up at this Super 8. This is decent budget-priced hotel space. ROOMS: Clean and comfortable, if a bit dated. The a/c worked great. Some things have been updated. SERVICE: Front desk took care of all our needs. We skipped the Continental breakfast for something a bit more hearty in town. LOCATION: Convenient on US 18 on the south side of town. One of the top places in Hot Springs to visit, the Mammoth Site, is across the parking lot. A decent Mexican restaurant, Jalapenos, is just down the sidewalk. NET-NET: If I were staying in town a week, I might choose something different, but for a reasonable and affordable place to stay over night, this place fits the bill.

very nice basic hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly helping us out with some special requests. A great restaurant within walking distance, we really enjoyed our stay in Hot Springs and at this property. The bed was comfortable, room was super clean and a great price!!

We are very picky people and this hotel far exceeded our expectations. It looked like it had been recently renovated and everything was very clean. Our room was nice, and had a new, very comfortable recliner. I was concerned about the property because I had read a few negative reviews, that certainly wasn’t our experience. One review criticized the breakfast, we felt it was more than adequate. The coffee was outstanding, it had two kinds of juice, cold cereal, oatmeal, a waffle maker, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, muffins and fresh fruit. The property is the best bang for the buck in the Black Hills in the summer. We live in eastern South Dakota and travel to and through the Hills frequently, we will definitely be back.

older hotel with dated furnishings.There was very little vanity space.Breakfast was a Continental breakfast, consisting of cereal, some bread, fruit, fruit juice, hard boiled eggs, and coffee and tea. Parking lot needed repairs. the staff was lovely and accommodating.

They will steal your money. People are either getting paid for these reviews or are lying this place Deserves 0 stars… actually -5 stars… Worst place ever… The first room I was given was completely dirty, beds weren’t made trash was still in room, second room they gave me was same thing, not cleaned from last people at all. The third room was finally cleaned somewhat but smelled so bad my kids didn’t even want to walk in it… I asked for refund so that I could go somewhere else and was told that he could give authorization to give a refund. And there was another person there who didn’t stay either and asked for a refund, I will be contacting Wyndham directly… This is a trashy hotel and ran by trashy people. Never in my life have I been told a refund of my money could not be given to me. Never again. If you want dirty rooms then stay here if not stay away… I will be contacting someone and get my money back. I did not stay at this nasty place at all and never would. Worst place ever.

I was in Hot Springs to work for a week at the Mammoth Site, which is adjacent to the Super 8. If I understand correctly, this motel is under new management and they are in the process of updates. I had a room in the (daylight) basement/first floor, which worked super for me. It's cooler there and I rarely ran the AC. I don't believe the renovations have hit the rooms in this wing yet. The hallway carpeting and paint are new. But the room itself is a bit dated. Not a lot of electrical/USB outlets, but it worked for me. My room came with the obligatory TV and Direct TV channel service. Also, a microwave and fridge that worked like a charm. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Most of all, the employees are the frosting on the cake of this place. The overnight counter lady is as sweet and personable as can be, even under duress. Same for the cleaning staff. Breakfast is decent. Hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, mini-muffins, oatmeal, make-it-yourself pancakes, juice, and coffee. The breakfast room is large and comfy.

Enjoyed my stay here room was clean and breakfast selection was good. Great views of the mountains. The staff was very friendly. When I needed room refreshed had no problem for my length of stay. Mammoth site is just right next door and new restaurant also.

They are just finishing up some extensive remodels and the rooms were looking great. It was off season so the rates were also very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were just passing through but would definitely stay there again.
