"The housekeeping service is not professional, they placed our pyjamas and personal items originally in bed next to our suitcase wheels (and other not clean area) while they changed bed sheets for us. Then we asked for laundry service of those items, the next day they returned the items to us, and half of them were still wet. We were quite frustrated by this . Also the locker room arrangement system was not updated effectively: My room number was updated for upgrade and obviously my assigned ski locker was not tied to the updated room #, then one night, i found my ski locker was emptied out! (because they thought i had checked out, based on the old incorrect room number). Luckily their staffs kept my stuffs and i found them back... Other than that, we are satisfied with the facility/ reception staff service/ location. We are especially satisfied w the staff - Harry for his servicem"

"We had an exceptional family stay at the Toyako Manseikaku Hotel Lakeside Terrace! The views of Lake Toya from our room were breathtaking.The buffet dinner and breakfast were fantastic, offering a huge variety of delicious food for everyone. A major highlight for us was relaxing in the onsen with its stunning lake view. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perfect after a day of exploring the area. We highly recommend this hotel for any family visiting Lake Toya!”"

"Ehkä paras hotelli, jonka olemme oleskelleet Japanissa. Kaikki oli täydellistä ja henkilöstö maksoi huomiota yksityiskohtiin joka kerta. Muista vain ottaa yhteyttä hotelliin etukäteen, jos tarvitset siirron JR Toyasta hotelliin. Hotellissa oli paljon pelejä pelata ja näköala järven oli hämmästyttävä. Loungealueella on baari niille, jotka ovat alkoholissa. Huone oli tilava ja super mukava korkealaatuisia tiloja tarjottu. Erityinen kylpyhuone oli myös upea. On kahvinkeitin ja tippa kahvinvalmistaja, joka oli mielenkiintoinen kokemus. Aamiainen ja illallinen olivat myös erittäin herkullisia yläkerran ainesosia. - Hyvä."

"Stayed at Hilton Niseko Village recently and overall had a pleasant experience. The biggest highlight is definitely the ski-in ski-out access, which makes it extremely convenient for anyone coming to Niseko for snowboarding or skiing. You can go straight from the hotel to the slopes without needing transportation. The location is great, surrounded by beautiful snow scenery and close to the ski lifts. The service was also good — staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. However, a couple of things could be improved. The hotel does not provide a microwave, which can be inconvenient if you want to heat up takeaway food. Also, there is no coin laundry service, which might be troublesome for longer stays, especially after days of snow activities. Overall, it’s a comfortable stay with a great location for skiing, but adding basic facilities like a microwave and coin laundry would make the experience even better."

One of the biggest advantages is the location. However, it’s important to note that several popular restaurants require advance reservations, especially during peak seasons. Planning ahead is highly recommended to avoid long waits or limited dining options. Overall, Rusutsu Resort is very family-friendly, well-organized, and convenient. With its wide range of facilities, nearby convenience store, and diverse dining choices, it’s a great destination for a comfortable and enjoyable family holiday — just remember to book restaurants early."

"Lake facing.  Nice and serene view.  Rather old and dated.  Needs a refurbishment.  We had tatami mat room which takes a bit of getting used to for the tatami smell.  Big room. But very small toilet.  Could have made the toilet bigger and ditch the useless storage cupboard next to the door.  Beds need to be upgraded.  Old and mattress far too thin. Breakfast and dinner were so-so.  Only plus points are lake facing and cleanliness is acceptable.  Free carpark next to hotel."

"The location is the best which just one minute walking distance to the bus terminal to/from Toya Station and in front of the ferry pier. Please see my photo. Perfect location. The front desk receptionist lady was friendly. I was placed to a lake view Japanese style room. It doesn't include shower but toilet in the room and it looks like old but I love the room. The view from the room's window to Lake Toya was excellent. I love my room's window can be opened, I could see more clear to the lake view and to have fresh air from outside by opening the window. Even it was a raining day, cloudy and frosty. The view is still spotless good. The service was good. The room was clean, tidy and come with all necessity, but bath/shower excluded. However, based on the price, I was happy with it because I don't mind to use the bathroom in the onsen area on floor one. There was only two down side that I found: First, the male onsen area floor was sticky and slippery with moss (My left hand accidentally touched it and my hand was sticked with moss in outdoor onsen area) that includes indoor and outdoor area. I wish they would take more effort to the cleanliness of onsen area. Second, the suana was not available for customer to use. However, I had a fantastic sauna and onsen in 万世閣 (a hotel where is just a few minutes walk away from Toya Grand Hotel) by a paying walk in onsen fee(1300 yen) for non-resident. So, it didn't affect me much. Overall, my experience was good. I would give Toya Grand Hotel 8 out of 10. I love Toya Grand Hotel. I would recommend it."

"The Windsor Hotel at Toya may boast its status as a premier 5-star luxury destination and its historic role as host of the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, but our recent stay fell far short of expectations. Despite the grandeur of the location and its breathtaking views, the service quality was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. English communication was inconsistent and below the standard expected at an international luxury property. Housekeeping was careless—leaving a used cleaning towel on the bed after daily room service, which is simply unacceptable. When I drove to the main entrance to pick up my family, I was abruptly asked to leave immediately, even though only a few cars were present. This lack of hospitality was jarring. Additionally, being charged for extra bottled water—something even 3-star hotels offer complimentary—felt petty and out of touch with luxury norms. The most troubling experience came during checkout. Two of our international credit cards failed to process, and although we successfully paid with a third, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. We were met with a sour expression and the word “FINALLY” once the transaction went through—an unacceptable remark that left a lasting negative impression. While the hotel’s setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall service and treatment we received did not reflect the standards of a true 5-star experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both staff training and guest relations."
