Cumberland House B&B Gatwick

We stayed for 2 nights at the Cumberland, the night before and following our week stay in Jordan. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and beds are so comfortable. The breakfast fare is tasty and plentiful. Carmen is an excellent host, and interested in her guests travels, as most stay and leave their cars at the b&b. The Cumberland is a 10 minute safe walk into Horley, which has plenty of eateries. The taxi service to the airport was prompt both there and back. We were recommended this place by a friend, and would not hesitate to stay again if flying from Gatwick Airport.

Cumberland House is very well located for access to Gatwick or to explore the area. We received a friendly and good service with all the necessary Covid 19 precautions in place. Carmel and Clive are approachable and helpful.

Nous sommes arrivés et avons été accueillis chaleureusement par la propriétaire. Elle nous a réservé un repas pour le soir dans un pub super sympa, nous a renseigné sur les endroits à visiter. La chambre et la salle de bain très confortables et très propres. N'hésitez pas à vous arrêter.

Sehr freundliche und persönliche Betreuung - ob Fragen oder Tischreservierung, sehr leckeres Frühstück mit selbstgebackenem Brot. Man fühlt sich fast wie bei Freunden. Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus - prima.

Me hospedé una noche en Cumberland, la atención fue excelente, es muy practico el traslado sin costo del aeropuerto de Gatwick al BB, no tuve inconvenientes en comunicarme y han arribado a la brevedad. La habitación fue amplia, limpia, incluye una pava eléctrica y la posibilidad de prepararte te o café. Hay wifi gratuito. El desayuno es muy completo, teniendo la posibilidad de pedir según tus gustos o dieta. En lo personal decidí probar el desayuno ingles y todo fue muy casero y riquísimo. Los dueños han sido muy amables, y se preocupan por tu bienestar y orientarte en puntos turísticos de la zona, que para mi sorpresa son muchos. Aunque para visitarlos recomiendo contar con un auto. La zona es un típico barrio ingles muy pintoresco, a tres cuadras hay un supermercado si uno necesita comprar algo. Si vuelo a viajar a Inglaterra, seguramente volvería.

ここに泊まることになってしまったのはまったくの偶然でした。 ガトウィック空港の警報器鳴ったせいで、みんな空港施設の外に非難せねばならず、結果アテネ行きのフライトに乗れなかったため、次の日の早朝の便に変更だったためロンドンまで戻る気力もわかずＢＡＡのヘルプデスクを通して予約しました。 予約するとオーナー（？）の女性が10分以内に車で迎えに来てくれ災難をいたわってくれました。 到着するとエントランスホールは少し散らかっていましたが、本がたくさんある廊下を通って部屋へ、部屋はかわいらしい内装で、スーツケースを再び開かなくてもすむような歯ブラシやシャンプー石鹸類はバスルームに備え付けてありました。 荷物を置くとティータイムを勧められ、部屋でのことかと思ったらダイニングでビスケットなどと一緒にいただけて一息つけてとてもホッとしたのを覚えています。 私たち車できたわけでない旅行者としての問題点は夕飯を食べれそうな場所は近所のパブ兼レストラン一軒のみ。そこは地元の人たちが家族や友人と集まるちょっとした週末のディナー場所として集まるところという位置づけだったようですが、緊張つづきだったため重いパブの食事は食べる気が起こりませんでしたがスープだけなど軽いものはなく、重い料理を食べざるをえませんでした。 夜になるとＢ＆Ｂはうるさいと感じることがありました。建物が古いせいかほかの部屋のドアの開け閉めの音が気になりました。。 以上の２点を考慮すると、内装や清潔に気を配ることをかんがみても星は3つだと私はおもいます。 素敵だと思ったのは、ダイニングのそれぞれのテーブルには季節の野花が生けてありました。
