Bulls Head - Holymoorside

Great dining and beautiful accommodation. Lovely, cosy pub hotel. Great food with a choice of menus, ranging from the tasting menu to simple (but very well done) pub fayre. We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery. Very handy spot for local attractions. We stayed for one night on a mini-break and the room was perfect. Lovely bedroom decoration, nicely fitted out bathroom with a decent sized bath and rainfall shower and a very comfy bed. Tea annd coffee making facilities provided along with chilled fresh milk. All super clean. Great breakfast too, toast or pastry stater with a good range of breakfast mains option. We had the FEB, black pudding was just perfect to soak up the previous nights ale.. Has its own free car parking too.

Over priced This is not a 5 star establishment, food was ok, lock on door didnt work but fixed after mentioning, carrying your luggage through the public indoor and outdoor bar, not suitable accommodation for disabled. For the money we paid is no way justified, you're not even asked how you want your eggs cooked for breakfast!

Gorgeous pub tucked away in a lovely village. The food is really something special and much needed in the area for a different night out. We had the a la carte option. The Ham Egg starter is lovely and the venison with celeriac puree was delicious albeit the sauce was a little sweet for me but it went well with the dish. The canapés are stunning and the sour dough bread with marmite butter starts the meal off perfectly. Really worth a visit. We’ve been twice and enjoyed both visits. Next trip booked for December.

My husband and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary here by having the 5 course tasting menu. Everything was delicious. All the different ingredients for the courses were explained to us by the very helpful staff, especially by Tom who was particularly knowledgeable. Couldn't fault the service. It is a little pricey - my husband had a glass of wine at £13 - but the food and drink are excellent and of the highest quality, so for a celebration once a year, it's nice to treat yourself !!

Really enjoyed the rustic feel to the place. Bed comfy, bath was a nice touch and the room was very homely. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice but didn’t like the ‘gammon’ style bacon and tomato chutney instead of a proper tomato. Would 100% recommend.

If you are looking for somewhere for fast junk food, then this is not the place for you. The Bulls Head has still retained its village pub feel, however Mark and his dedicated team have created a stunning menu with fresh produce and the result is just perfect. Our large group called in for a pre arranged lunch and were treated to a 8 course Taster Menu. Every course was tasty and delicious, served by very hardworking and caring staff, nothing was too much trouble. We will return. My only disappointment is that I live 40 miles away, otherwise I would eat there every week!!
