Das gemütliche Dorfhotel Kaltenhauser

Great Hotel- family owned for generations. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was part of a group of 9 skiers and 2 of our group were delayed getting to the hotel at midnight. The chef and owner brought them a meal and poured them a beer. That is special service. My room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. There is an old part of the hotel with a cozy common area and fireplace. The food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner. Free beer and wine included. I highly recommend this hotel in the Hollersbach area.

We spent Christmas as a group of 8 (2 families) at Dorfhotel Kaltenhauser and enjoyed our stay so much. The inn is impeccably kept, the staff friendly and very attentive, and the food was wonderful. We came to ski and the accommodations for skiers was perfect with an inside boot room that provided a comfortable place to get your gear on (plus many boot warmers for your return!), and a separate ski room for your skis and poles. Our favorite part was the common area on the third floor where we spent our evenings hanging out. The inn itself is a short shuttle to the Mittersill gondola but is otherwise off the beaten path, meaning you will need a car/taxi to get to a downtown area. But don’t feel like you need to leave the inn if you’re looking for a good meal. Between beer, wine, soft drinks, snacks, and the 5 course meals, you won’t be disappointed or hungry. It was very clear to us that the owners had a lot of pride for this inn that has been in the family for generations. Everything is taken care of for you from the moment you walk in to the time you leave and you are treated like a true guest. We can’t think of a better place to have spent our Christmas holiday away from home.

Kalterhauser is a wonderful family run hotel that exceeds expectations on every level. The exterior has a lovely more traditional alpine look, while the rooms are modern, spacious and very clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food is truly gourmet level. The heated indoor pool was a wonderful bonus. The atmosphere is family friendly and without the pretentiousness that can often be seen at some of the more better known resorts like Kitzbühel. We stayed for 7 days with our 3 children on a half board basis and had a wonderful time. The ski bus stops directly outside the hotel and it takes less than 5min to get to the main ski lift that takes you right to the top of the mountain. We hired our skis through Sport Stegel and were very happy with their service, including being able to store all our ski gear on the mountain overnight. We are already planning our return visit to Kalterhauser - thank you Eva and team for making our family holiday one of the most memorable ones to-date!! Your attention to detail, friendliness and high standards are what truly set this hotel apart. See you again soon!
