Hotel Macondo Holbox

Below basic - feels like a Hostel Unfortunately, this hotel falls far below basic standards. We definitely overpaid for what we received—it felt more like a hostel than an actual hotel. At £130 per night, we expected a much better room. If the price had been £40-£50, it would have been more acceptable, but at this rate, it was extremely disappointing. We didn’t get the room that was advertised. The photos showed a room with two double beds, but in reality, we received a small double bed and a single bed. To make matters worse, the room was located underneath the staircase, with no natural light at all. The noise was another major issue. The hotel is situated right next to Hostel Tribu, a party hostel. Over our three-night stay, two nights were filled with loud parties and pounding bass music that continued late into the night. The one redeeming feature of this hotel is its location—very central and within a few minutes’ walking distance of the center and the beach. However, for the price, there are plenty of better options nearby. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Aceptable En general el hotel no está mal, en mi caso en particular hicimos la reservación mediante la página de Hotels, donde decía que incluye Wifi y toallas de playa, lo que no dice es que el wifi solo es en la recepción, ya que no llega hasta los cuartos y cuando pedimos toallas de playa, nos dijeron que ya no las daban, en cuanto al servicio, limpieza y trato de los empleados, no tengo queja, me pareció excelente, el precio me parece bien acorde a lo que ofrecen, repito una vez mas que mi única molestia es que es engañoso lo que te ofrecen en la página.

First note! The staff are 100% amazing, kind and friendly. We took room 10, this is located on the lower level at the end of the walkway. It was fortunate that with this location we didn't have passing guest traffic walking past our room, so we felt like we were in a private area. The staff area was very close to us but we really didn't mind because we didn't meet a staff person we didn't like. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard, with coffee left for the morning pot. We had to go buy water to make the coffee, but the tienda was not too far away to buy supplies. The location could not be more amazing, only half a block to the beach, we could see the ocean when we stepped out from the lobby. I must mention, this hotel is located very close to town, and is immediately in front of a hostel with a bar (located on the next street), the bar had music every night until midnight or just after. At the weekend the hotel is very full and noisy...why, because the stairs to go up to the higher rooms are directly behind Room 10. We could hear very loudly the transition of other guests and kids going up and down the stairs, sometimes for hours! The room above us, Number 11, was noisy, two times we had to request they stop walking and walking and walking across their room and moving furniture. the noise from this was incredible. Also, if you are allergic to pets this place is pet friendly. A room close to us had three large dogs staying with their owners, they left them alone at night to bark in the room until they returned. The hotel only has one hairdryer to share will all the guests, so it has to be returned to the front desk after use. Clothes quickly got damp and did not dry very fast, not at all in the room, we put some things outside to dry but they did not dry completely. Overall, our stay was good, we were located close to all we needed in Holbox, the only issue was the noise, and music from neighbors and other guests. Note: there is a lot of walking in Holbox on uneven streets and sidewalks, we constantly saw people walking to different areas of the beaches to the East and the West, honestly I got a little tired of the walking and the uneven streets. Don't wear shoes you value they will be destroyed walking around. Strong flip flops or sandals are advisable.

D'apparence extérieur, l'hôtel est typique, local et à 2 mins à pied de l'eau. Il est légèrement excentré du centre et tant mieux, car à Holbox, toute la journée il y a les bruits de moteur des voitures de Golf, c'est incessant. Cependant il y a un restaurant au dessus de l'hôtel + musique donc n'espérez pas fermer l'œil avant 1h du matin... Les chambres doubles simples sont au rez-de-chaussée sans aucune vue sur l'extérieur donc très sombres et avec le passage incessant des autres clients et de ceux du restaurant. Ces chambres sont à rafraîchir... Les chambres du 1er étage ont un petit balcon donc attention les photos avec belle terrasse ne concernent que 2 chambres.. Au vu du prix, offrir le petit déjeuner serait vraiment un minimum
