Easy to find and safe area with shops and restaurants all around, and 10 min walk to old quarter. Receptionists are an asset. They take you through a map of the city at check-in, you’re not being hustled they just like to inform you of all the things to do. They know everything about the city and are keen to help with recommendations. Again I didn’t feel this was a hustle, and I tried some of the recommendations which were great. Free tea and coffee in reception 24hrs. I arrived at 11 and my room was ready even tho check in wasn’t til 2 so I was very happy, having dragged my luggage from a very bad homestay. The room and bathroom were big and clean. There was good aircon and a powerful fan. Shower got super hot and was really powerful - main reason I left my homestay was a weak, lukewarm shower, and no aircon. The bathroom is very separate from the room (unlike many trendy European hotels where you can be seen showering). I felt so relieved when I got here as reviews of my previous accommodation were totally wrong and I booked this hotel in the middle of the night in desperation. TV with English channels showing good films. They provided carafes of drinking water. Some mentioned these don’t get changed - it’s really not hard to ask for more water though. There’s a fridge and kettle and hairdryer. Good toiletries. No sign of the ants or bugs that some reviews mentioned. It’s a quiet hotel at night even though my room led onto the stairs to reception, and there are many signs asking you to be quiet after 10. There was a glass panel at the top of my door that let in light at night - it didn’t stop me sleeping but you may want an eye mask for any hotel. The bed seemed to be a king, and had a very firm mattress but was comfortable. They have a laundry service which I used one afternoon - clothes were back same evening. One day I was walking to old quarter with terrible blisters, and without knowing this the receptionist Van offered me a lift on her moped. This kind of friendliness really made the hotel stand out to me. Yes it’s a fairly budget hotel but all these touches make a difference. Breakfast is served 7:30-10:00 in the small area by reception (you can also sit outside). You get a list of items to choose from - one main breakfast which was various eggs on toast or banana/chocolate pancakes, then choice of hot drinks, and a fruit platter. I tried all of it and it was good quality and huge portions. Tided me over til dinner. I didn’t ask if they had gluten free bread, and the only vegan option would be jam on toast or the generous fruit platter. I didn’t try room service and I don’t know if they provided it. For the price I paid, I don’t have any complaints and would stay here again in Hoi An if not looking for luxury.
