I absolutely love this place. Second time visiting. Thank you to all the staff for making my trip so special! The best gluten and dairy free food - pool side drinks service and organising all my transfers to Kruger and Blyde.

Very disappointed and not worth the price at all. To sum up our experience: Joburg in the bush. Lots of building on site, which they don't tell you with building noise going well into the night. The main access road is closed, so you have to use the delivery road, but there's no sign to show where reception is. So we and another car were driving in circles, with no-one coming out to show us the way. With other lodges the gate let reception know when guests are on their way and they wait to welcome you. Arriving at our deluxe room, there were 3 rooms next to each other with no privacy. From the parking you walk straight by nr 19 ‘s room bedroom and 20 and 21 open on the same veranda overlooking the building site. The room itself was done over recently, but the toilet roll holder and the hairdryer holder were broken. The fitted sheet was to small for the bed and the flat sheet and duvet cover barely covered the mattress. The moment you turn on your side on the bed, your back is not covered. There is no working space for business people in the room so we had to carry the small table on the veranda inside which nearly wobbled over because the screws were all loose. On the game drive there was only your cool drink. No snacks. The train also runs next to the reserve and makes a terrible noise while watching animals. Dinner was OK, but when my husband asked if he could rather have something like plain ice cream for desert instead of chocolate cake, the answer was simply: Nope. Not even sorry, or let us see what we can do. We were asked about dietary needs and we specifically said : No pork. Yet for breakfast there were only bacon and pork sausage on the menu. Really not worth the price or the 4 star rating.

Simply wonderful! Game drives were excellent and well worth the early start, although if visiting in winter be sure to bring your cold weather gear. Accommodation excellent. Food great too (could be a bit warmer, though). Friendly staff and a very welcoming vibe.

What a pleasure! The staff was amazing (Douglas, inparticularly), the game driver, Chris, gave us an experience on the evening drive we'll never forget. A beautiful accommodation in a Big 5 area. Couldn't have asked for more! Highly recommend.

Location was beautiful, but construction work everywhere which we were not made aware of. Atmosphere was ok. Rooms were clean, but bath not working, shower have no pressure and cannot properly close the taps. Definitely not value for money. The train is very loud at night. Service can improve. Will not be going back

1. This is definitely not a 4-star lodge. The rooms are very outdated and cannot compete with other 4-star lodges in the area. 2. Our shower drain was blocked and resulted in water spilling all over the bathroom. 3. The room has a funny damp smell. 4. We got 1 water for 2 people. 5. The finer details are terribly unkept. l.e. the basin is stained, the carpets are torn, the ashtray is tacky, the toilet flusher is worn out and lost all its coating. 6. The rooms are separated by a door so you can hear everything from the other side (eeeek). 7. Breakfast juice is a juice mixture, no fresh juice. Coffee at the restaurant is only instant Jacobs coffee- no filter coffee or cappuccinos. 8. We paid for a 120min game drive, got a flat tyre, waited 25min for it to be changed and arrived back at the lodge first of all the vehicles. We received only 55mins of what we paid for. 9. 2 mins before we saw 4 lions, we were told to get off the game vehicle for the ranger to change the tyre. No precautions, no warnings, no “in case of emergency do this”. 10. The signal is terrible and so is the wifi!! My husband needs access to reliable wifi for his work (24/7) and couldn't reach anyone. We ended up leaving before 9 just so he could be reached. I really am sorry to say this but this is far from a 4-star experience.

We booked two rooms. One was a big two bedroom villa with huge pool and braai area, which is a self catering. That was for our kids. Drive from the gate the reception is 6KM. Check in was quick. We even got welcoming drinks. Breakfast was ok with not so much selection, start from 8am to 9:30am. Dinner was good however, I find it that it was rushed, starting from 7pm to 8:30pm. We had half board, including bed breakfast and dinner. They have full boated option. Rooms were clean. Very friendly staff. They decorated my son’s bed for his birthday celebration. They also decorated our bed for our anniversary. We did morning 3 hrs game drive. We saw lion and giraffe . I would recommend it and will definitely go back.
