The Common Room Project aims to provide an intimate space for you to comfortably recharge, connect with like-minded people and immerse yourselves in the local flair.
We are located in the heart of the city, making local exploration easy. We also have the benefit of several 24hr convenience stores being around us. You are also within easy reach of all the top tourist attractions, handy for day time exploration.
Here at The Common Room, we’re big on community. We’re not a party hostel but we believe a lively, social atmosphere is key to making connections and creating lasting relationships.
Every night we put on a highlight reel dinner, similar to what the locals call “com gia dinh”, which loosely translates to “family dinner.” Drink and eat to your hearts’ content then let the night guide you. Fancy upping the ante? The vibrant Saigon nightlife awaits you just down the road. Wanna hang back? Enjoy vibing at the hostel with board games, chit chats with fab people, and, if you’re lucky, a bit of karaoke. Or if travel fatigue has defeated you on this night, retire in satisfaction to your cozy bed.

Couldn’t get more perfect for the city. A clean and comfortable oasis away from the busy street. It’s got an incredible location with lots going on around, but soundproofing doors so it feels very peaceful inside. Lots of solo travellers that come together in the common room as you walk in - not forcefully social but everyone is friendly. Very welcoming too with friendly security guards that greet and wave to you every time you come to the hostel.
Also as an additional plus there is a communal kitchen which is pretty rare to find in hostels in Asia from my experience.
We actually initially booked a different hostel in the city for our trip, but arrived there and found bedbugs. Save yourself the pain and book this one straight away.
