The Royal Heysham

Me and my fella stayed at the royal over valentines weekend, our room was spotless, nicely decorated, like home to home! It had everything we needed! Loved the rainfall shower with the power shower wow great feature, also the white company hand washes and cream and shower washes lovely touch! Breakfast was amazing both days plenty on offer and will keep you full till tea time! ( sausage and bacon were great quality) and eggs looked to perfection! We also stayed in and have an evening meal, I have the steak and my partner the pie, both exceptional! Every member of staff we came into contact with were lovely and happy to help! An absolute gem of a place it really is, we will defo be back again! If you are looking for somewhere in the heysham/Lancashire area choose here you will not be disappointed. Thank you all for a brilliant stay! Can't wait to come back.😊

Visited for an evening meal with friend. When we arrived we were seated in the restaurant area straight away and asked if we would like drinks. We asked for a wine list and instead of the list being provided we’re asked what sort of wine do you want? We said red and the waitress listed the varieties available. When we chose Malbec were not given a price at any point. Wine appeared and we had to ask how much it was ! we chose food from the menu. I had the steak and ale pie my friend had the belly pork. I have to say the food was absolutely delicious really great portion sizes , cannot fault it. No one came to the table to ask if everything was ok with the food, which was disappointing it’s not a cheap place to eat so you would definitely expect a higher level of service. When our plates were cleared away we were not asked if we would like dessert or coffee or more drinks which again was very disappointing. When we asked for the bill the “waiter” left the card machine on the table and walked away. There was at no point any consideration that we may have wanted to split bill or add service charge. We had to wait for him to come back and ask for service to be added. He again didn’t ask if everything had been ok. We also thought the “waiter” was very inappropriately dressed for the restaurant. I feel like the staff were very new and had little or no training in customer service. The fact that I asked specifically for a wine list and wasn’t provided one has never happened to me before very poor. As previously stated the food was superb it was just let down by poor service.

Lovely cosy hotel with real fires. Very good food. Friendly and helpful staff, Phil and Michelle were delightful at breakfast this morning. Will is a great host and seemed to manage everything very well, from checking us in, serving behind the bar and waiting at dinner. We will definitely return. Thank you all for a great stay.

Lovely food and staff.

Food was excellent and good value for money all considered, mitchellen star food it's not but good hearty food it is. Not quite sure about a large glass of wine costing me £11, not a place I will be getting drunk in. I ordered the lasagne and my partner ordered the steak n ale pie, both where nice, plenty of filling in the pie as well, we had creme caramel deserts to follow as, as long as you ordered at least 2 course we got 25% off, all in all a great experience
