Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

As regular visitors we always enjoy Slaley Hall. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, from a warm welcome at Reception to check out. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The facilities are good, as are the food and rooms. The location is good, perhaps the only downside is a lack of signage from the road for new visitors.

We arrived early and our room was ready. The spa facilities were adequate. Only comment is some update needed to the rock effect around the pool. The food in the Clarets jug was fine. Dessert bit disappointing. The staff very friendly and Neville not sure his title but was a perfect gentleman. He transported our luggage to and from our bedroom with no effort. Neville was very polite and friendly. Hope to see him next time we visit.

Had a wonderful spa break at Slaley Hall for my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. Friendly receptionist on arrival and our room was ready early on arrival. Clean, very comfortable room with a lovely view of the golf course. Headed down to the spa and spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool. The evening meal was lovely as was the breakfast. Our spa treatments were super and Kayleigh gave me a lovely facial and lower leg massage. We would definitely return!

I recently visited slaley hall for a friends wedding and couldn’t fault the venue the food and the breakfast where lovely tasty and filling. The room was very basic for the price I paid but overall it was a lovely wedding and overnight stay. £200 for one night I thought was a bit much price wise

Absolutely beautiful inside and out,very clean,staff were brilliant,by far the best place I've stayed in.will definitely be going back. So relaxed. Pool and sauna and spa 5* Reasonably priced Highly recommend Grounds were amazing and well kept

Looks a little tired now. Could do with a re-furb in rooms. There for two nights and was very disappointed in breakfast offerings. Despite our visit being preplanned for over 18 months the gluten free options for breakfast were sub-standered. No GF cereal, asked about GF sausages and was informed no but could have vegan/vegs sausages!! I am not vegan or Veggy. Turned out they did have GF sausages but staff did not know this. No pastry options at all. When ordering GF toast waited around 20 minutes on this, why? 2nd day ordered Gluten free sausages and poached eggs and they both arrived on separate cold plates. Spoke with management and they listened and offered change options the following morning but sadly did not deliver. Very disappointing stay. Will write to complain. Management said all the correct things, whilst I was there as you would expect but poor on delivery. A trip to a local supermarket could have fixed it!! Or they could offer a separate Gluten Free station for breakfast or a Gluten Free menu. Gave constructive feedback to manager.

Venue stunning! Staff very friendly. Room was clean and well presented. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Food in restaurant was poor! Sunday dinner- meat was very tough and more fat than meat, Pancake stodgy Yorkshire’s, cauliflower cheese seemed like cheese square on cauliflower. Very disappointed. However, rest of stay was fantastic and would still recommend staying.

With the exception of the spa staff. Your front of house staff seem to be trying not to help your guests ie Claret Jug bar restaurant visited Sunday evening, was asked if I had made a reservation to which I replied no . Another ember of staff was called over to see if she cope with another couple for a meal eventually said yes follow me to your table? The food area was almost empty with plenty of seating? So why the theatrics. Iwas then after my meal that my card was declined eventually went to bar area where your WiFi picked up a signal and all was ok. Are you trying to make your guests go elsewhere? Doxford Hall Spa was streets ahead in all departments as is the Tortworth court hotel in Bristol when comparing similar styles of property hotels.

Friendly staff, nice food and beautiful surroundings. Everything inside though is very very dated and worn. Needs modernization desperately. Such a shame as should be a 5 star establishment. Has the potential to be amazing and just ended up being a let down. would return if updated.
