South Mimms/Potters Bar

Pls be aware my brother was booked in for one night on 31 December , We chose this hotel due to location and free WiFi.My brother needed to do work emails so wanted a quiet location to do this.He was allocated a room on the lower level. Almost immediately there was no WiFi service in his room. He only got a weak service when he went out in the corridor. He went to reception and was told they weren't aware of any issues with the WiFi, and to maybe go and sit in the bar and do his emails. This was not acceptable due to workload and conference calls. He asked for another room and was told there wasn't any available. He again went back to the room and reset his phone but still couldn't get a signal in the room. He then decided that he had to leave and book in to another hotel if possible, he told reception he was leaving and they apologised but never offered to try to book him in to any other Premier Inn . He evenly found another hotel and had to pay again so he could complete his work.Premier inn refused to refund the money as they stated the wifi is supplyed by a independant company and is not included in the price of the room. On doing some research we found other complaints from earlier in the year regarding the wifi especially in the lower rooms . They must of been aware there were issues with the WiFi signal. On pointing this out in my complaint and saying that they are offering a service which obviously has issues and doesn't always work they are misleading people. They didn't answer that point and just repeated there no refund policy. They then had the nerve to say that they hope I will use them in the future. You have two hopes Bob and No hope. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Very basic. Breakfast was nice and hot, good selection. but evening meal not great. Room was cold and heating took a while. Bed was comfy. Shower hot and big. Decor could do with a re-fresh. Parking expensive.

The fabulous staff make this Premier Inn stand out. From the welcome at reception, to the restaurant and the brilliant house keeping team. Everyone goes out of the way to be helpful and work with you, to give you a really happy stay. I stay here often for work and wouldn't go anywhere else. The location is great. The rates are great. The staff are great and the rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. What more can you ask? Thank you everyone for looking after me so well.

We woke up this morning and our shower had backed up with poo,hair and the smell of sewage and poo was awful! It flooded the floor that bad we had to wear shoes to go into the bathroom to brush our teeth or use the toilet! Not happy at all!!!!!!!!!!

The accessible rooms are excellent and, a rarity, can be converted into family rooms. Both rooms are a good size, with lowered baths, lowered beds and handrails as you'd expect. Location wise, you need a car and, the one negative, is management of the parking, which is outsourced to an off-site company that do little more than take money. Frequently, the accessible parking bays, which are by the main entrance, have vehicles not displaying a blue badge and the parking place the onus on reporting such matters to the car park users. As the hotel is on two levels, and the accessible rooms are on the same level as main reception, parking elsewhere on site at the bottom of a hill is more than a little inconvenient. If all the bays were filled with those who actually need it, no problem, but usually there are liveried vehicles parked or others who don't want the aggravation of an extended walk. Of you use the hotel, please park responsibly.

Great stay at reasonable price. We often stay at South Mimms Premier Inn when visiting Lomdon to see shows. Very convenient and close to M25 for our trip back home to Lincoln. We stay here very often. Recommend to froends and family too. Good sleep and comfortable beds too.
