The beautiful residence of Number One Port Hill Bed & Breakfast built in 1812 and acknowledged in Nikolaus Pevsner s Buildings of Hertfordshire features an eclectic elegant mix of original grandeur and modern touches and offers truly first class accommodation in Hertford. The Drawing Room provides a chance for you to lap up the history of the house in lavish surroundings. It is the perfect place to relax read a book or just sit by the magnificent fireplace. What can I say about Annie and Number One Port Hill that will give a true tribute to the most amazing hostess and most delightful B and B accommodation. Meeting Annie is like meeting a long lost friend, she make you feel at home from the minute she opens the front door of her beautiful Georgian House called Number One. Her breakfasts are second to none they last for ages while sitting at her beautiful table,decorated with treasures from the past. The whole dinning room is a wonderland of crystal and silver so unique. Having spent 2 nights in the most comfortable bed with a pillow change on request, it has left us wanting more. So Thank you Annie for a wonderful experience in the best B and B ever. We shall see you again real soon Gillian and Steve

This is our second visit - what a find. If you are looking for a luxurious high end beautiful B&B then look no further. This is the most beautiful place to stay. Road parking outside the property or a carpark a very short distance away. It is spotlessly clean. It is beautiful from the moment you walk through the front garden packed with fragrant flowers and colour. It has comfortable beds with lovely linen. Bathrooms with all the essentials. It has a quiet location but is only a short walk to the main town with many bars restaurants and shops. The Millstream pub is a 5 minute walk if that and does great food beer and wine. The breakfast at Number One is outstanding cooked to order by the lovely Annie. If you aren't dashing off into Hertford and you are lucky enough to share her company you wont be disappointed. We booked Annie’s B&B for two nights while we were visiting our Son who had just moved back from overseas. We arrived at No:1 Port Hill to be greeted by the wonderful Annie . The house is beautiful and very stylish and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a relaxed stay . Annie was very accommodating with Breakfast times and served delicious assortment of breakfast items. We are looking forward to returning soon . Thank you Annie

Where do I begin. Number One is fabulous in every way. The property is a beautifully furnished Georgian town house. It is well situated a short walk from the lovely restaurants and bars of Hertford. Parking was available outside the property and there is also a small carpark a very short distance away. The property is warm welcoming and very comfortable. It has luxury balanced with practicality & fun. The breakfasts are delicious beautifully cooked with excellent choice in a stunning dinning room Annie our host was amazing. Nothing was too much effort & the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We will definitely stay again it really was a very special visit.

We had a great stay at Number One Port Hill. House was lovely as was our room, clean and very comfortable. Annie, our host was lovely too, very welcoming and chatty. We always enjoyed our chats in her beautiful garden. Breakfasts were so tasty, cooked to order, with plenty of choice and set us up nicely for our activity filled days. Great location for a short walk in to Hertford too. All in all a very memorable stay. Thank you Annie.

Annie offered the perfect place for some very dear friends of mine who were visiting from Spain. Number One is absolutely stunning, absolutely beautifully furnished with every tiny detail thought about and every luxury provided to ensure complete comfort in every way. Breakfast in the delightful dining room was first class, so much choice and all freshly and expertly prepared by Annie who is an absolutely wonderful host. I'd highly recommend Number One if you are looking for a luxury and highly personal stay in a beautiful location.

Estancia memorable en un sitio con muchísimo encanto. Su dueña Annie, además de mimar a sus huéspedes con su excelente cocina, ha sabido transmitir a su establecimiento la calidez y las buenas vibraciones que irradia, en el cuidado de cada detalle, para hacer inolvidable la estancia. Memorable stay in a charming place. Its owner, Annie, in addition to pampering her guests with her excellent cuisine, has managed to give her establishment the warmth and good vibes that she radiates, taking care of every detail, in order to make an unforgettable stay.
