Bellos Hotel Apartments

Second time at this hotel and unfortunately it will be our last. The cleanliness from the last time to this time is massive. The room we stayed in was the probably the worst i've come across. On a positive note the bar staff were great, though Maria did seem to be under pressure. The gardens and pool area are excellent. Sadly no matter how nice they are they cant make up for the room.

This was our 2nd time here after 2 and a half years and was made to feel like a regular as they remembered us from last time and greeted us with big hugs. We requested a high room this time and we got a good one room 403 (little joke I had with staff) which was perfect as got most of the afternoon sun on the balcony but didn't get too hot in the room as sun was at an angle not facing directly at our balcony. First night we got there earlier this time so had time to enjoy some drinks and started with a strawberry daiquiri made by the man Thanos who is now the evening bar manager since Eric left and he gave us them on the house being the lovely man he is and they were so good. Most of the other staff were also different since our last visit Jonathan and Emma were the evening waiters and they were both so lovely I really hope they stay there as we felt very close to both of them and they worked incredibly hard never standing still always on the move and talking to all of the guests such lovely people they are. Can't remember the name of the Dutch guy who did all the entertainment he did tell me numerous times but I just called him Mr Dam as he was from Amsterdam and he is another lovely man such a cool guy and a great asset to the team. In the day time there was also some new faces Kostas at the pool bar by the slides who we didn't get to speak to much as we were out most days and only went down there once but he seemed lovely too, Alex who was the waiter in the bar taking the orders from the pool bars and even brought our snacks to our room and the lovely Hannah who does the other pool bar when it's open and she's another new addition I was very impressed with and chatted with a few times. Alex Bellos is now the day time manager and it was great to catch up with him again as we have a lot of similar interests. The lovely Maria is still there and does the main restaurant upstairs but does come down to the bar and is always smiling another absolute asset to the place. The hotel grounds are still absolutely immaculate and beautiful they work so hard to keep everything looking good and it really shows it definitely doesn't look like a 3 star resort imo. The day time food is still absolutely spot on especially the club sandwich which comes with loads of chips and was the best I'd ever tasted, we didn't eat anything from the restaurant menu as we were out quite a lot of the time but we did come back late (after midnight) and they would do us a burger, pizza or toasty or even call a local takeaway for you nothing is too much trouble with this place. Like I said we were out a lot more this time but when we did use the bar there was always plenty of choice of drinks and we enjoyed the time we did spend there. The only negative things for us was the old little shop at the top has now been turned into apartments so there's no onsite shop so had to walk up to the village or down to town to get any room stuff and although I obviously already knew the location

We have had a wonderful stay at the Bellos Hotel in the last two weeks of August, the room we stayed in was small but more than comfortable for my wife, myself and teenage daughter. The rooms were cleaned daily, they have a fantastic staff team which go up and beyond to make you holiday special. The drinks and food were well priced and even though it was a busy time you could get a sunbed at any time of the day by the bigger pool. The location is great to give you the options of two separate villages uphill and the marina down the hill. We really enjoyed our evenings out but be prepared to walk, good bus routes at the marina with plenty of taxi's available. Great for families and couples, would really recommend, I can understand why people return here year after year.
