We checked in late in the afternoon and received help with our bags to Beth on the third floor.We were asked about our dinner plans and our wake up time. The room was adorable, totally furnished with antiques. The shower and WC were cleverly fit into the small space. When we got up our morning beverages were outside our door. Breakfast was in the dining room with the other guests. The hosts circulated making sure everything was just right and it was. The raspberry pancakes were amazing. They made a special batch for my lactose intolerant friend. Couldn't have been nicer.

We only stayed one might but felt we had entered a different world. This is a beautiful historic house and it was a real treat to stay here. We couldn't take our eyes off all the wonderful furnishings and artefacts that made it so interesting. Our room had an enormous shower and a wonderful bath and we slept very well. We were able to walk into town for a nice italian meal and our hosts Bobby and Rock and other guests joined us for a delicious homemade breakfast which lasted hours as the conversation was great.

Extraordinary!!! In every sense of the word, the Sanders is a one-of-a-kind experience. The Sanders is not just good. Not just good for Helena. Not just good for Montana. It is a world class B and B experience, all because of the gracious owners - Bobbi and Rock. They take hospitality to a very high level indeed. The historic building is charming, well-located, extremely comfortable and relaxing. Could go on and on, but we would come back here in a heartbeat.

The history packed into one house is astounding! Room was beautiful , comfortable and relaxing. Amenities were many and very thoughtful. Ring and Bobbi are superb hosts and very knowledgeable Helena and its history. Breakfast was fantastic. Hope to go back.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about The Sanders. The mansion is stunning. The decor will take your breath away. There is so much history and so many beautiful antiques and artifacts….we could have stayed many more days. Breakfast was lovely. Hot coffee and pretty china cups were outside our bedroom door in the morning. They thought of everything! You have to visit to believe it!!!!

Historic mansion within walking distance of fun downtown Helena gorgeously restored with meticulous treatment by the owners. Our two day stay was extremely memorable with early morning coffee in the parlor, delicious breakfasts prepared by their son, a trained chef, evening conversations on their front porch recounting trip experiences and most important comfortable sleep time getting us ready for our next adventure.

We could not of had a more gracious hostess. My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary when tragedy happened she had stomach pains and Bobbi called 911. In less than an hour my wife was in surgery. Bobbi, Rock and Joe took great care of me during my extended stay. I felt more like family than a guest. The house is beautiful, the breakfast tasty, and the people the best.

If there ever were a home away from home, this is it. Look no further … and I’ve written maybe three reviews in a lifetime of travel. The hosts, Bobbi and Rock, are gracious, welcoming, and are as well informed about Helena (the city) and Montana (politics/land use issues/history) as you can be. Wonderful home cooked breakfast, ample enough, you can skip lunch! A great stay of three nights.

This place was a gem. Found by accident and it was fantastic. The rooms are beautiful and the owners are so sweet not to mention the breakfast was restaurant high quality. Definitely recommend you stay here but book in advance they only have 7 rooms
