Where do I start? With the owner perhaps who is a young Indian man who tells guests if they don't like the conditions of the place that they can leave. Or maybe the manager up front "Ruth" who talks badly about guests all the time and allows the weekly stay guests to break the rules while being publicly drunk and trying to start fights with anyone who dares to step outside. I wouldn't even advise a hospital to store a corpse here the place is filthy, outdated the rooms smell horribly the toilet paper holders fall out of the wall chunks of the walls are missing from NEGLECT by the OWNER who again doesn't care. Not sure why I see so many gleaming reviews for this DUMP but I'm here to set the record straight!! Helen police dept parks right across from the place if that tells you anything and usually they're here dealing with a DRUNK like I said previously. This place needs to be condemned ASAP.

Wife and I just needed time away from the house. Spent the day in Savannah then here for the night. Only issue was one of the lights for bathroom mirror was out. But no big issues. A few restaurants in the area but other than that all with in 30 miles.

This is an older hotel and while it was clean enough, there are a number of cosmetic improvements that could be made. Our room was clean, the jacuzzi tub was nice. The TV was a great size and the internet worked great. While it is not located right in the middle of the village, it was close enough to walk and enjoy the sights and lights.

It was a decent hotel for the price paid. I stayed in the king size room. There was a smell to it that made it difficult to breathe for me. The bed was comfy enough for me to have a good night sleep. The guest service was good, I didn't have an issue with them.

We were a little nervous about this stay given reviews and the fact that Helen PD pulled in as we were checking in, however we were pleasantly surprised and the place served its purpose for us - an affordable place for us to safely rest our heads for a few days exploring the area. Sure the hotel and rooms are dated and in need of some tlc, but our room seemed to have had a coat of paint and a new vanity some time in recent history. PROS: The beds were fine Water pressure okay Breakfast enough to get us started for the day Walking distance to everything we needed. Thankfully no sign at all of permanent residents. CONS: Bathrooms left a bit to be desired - towels tiny, toilet not flushing properly, needs a good scrub

Loved the location. Walking distance to all the good places. Accommodations left a bit to be desired. Second day there sink and vanity was crawling with small ants. They were on anything,cell phone,etc.,that was on the vanity. There was a plunger by the toilet in the bathroom. For good reason. Took three flushes with first two using the plunger to clear the toilet. Sink in vanity had barely a trickle of water and no hot water,barely warm. I am not a complainer but will not stay there again. Such a shame for such a good location.

This was the only hotel in town that had a vacancy. With that being said we paid for the room. Then we went to the room. There are many “permanent residents” that live in this motel, with questionable personalities. There was no view to the room, which was ok. Walk into the room and it smelled terrible! The bathroom was filthy!! Not clean, as in hair everywhere, just not clean. Gross. There was hair on the beds and only God knows what on the floor. I was just waiting for creatures. Back to front office we went, and we did get a refund and booked an air bnb. The best thing was leaving!!! Run away!! Do not waste your time or money!! 🤢🤢🤢

We booked the room online but spoke with the manager prior to doing so. Won't include all details but long story short, upon arriving, we were directed to our room at the back of hotel. We and one other vehicle were all that were back there. 2 men standing outside vehicle one of whom was very angry. Shouting F this and F that, saying they better get Helen PD down there because he was about to bust in somebody's door. We did not feel comfortable staying. Told owner, said he'd refund everything. No problem. Third party refunded all but $95. He'd refund that. After multiple calls to hotel, still no $95. Everytime he's very nice and says he'll do it right away. Never done. He obviously doesn't intend to. But- don't stay here. Not safe and not honest.

This was a nice place to lay my head. I had a good time! Thank You! I transferred from another hotel in which I had trouble with my room. They made my experience so much better!! The staff was super friendly!
