Excellent service from the lovely Julia with a well kept pint as usual. Good beer and very comfortable bed. Room well stocked with tea and coffee etc. Chef Ben ensured I was very well fed. Cannot wait to return to celebrate New Year. Thank you for always looking after me when I visit.

Brilliant pub the bar lady remy i think it was, was lovely and welcoming. We got the steak pie and it was delicious we really enjoyed it, the young waitress was very polite and happy to help at all times! Would 100% recommend this place. If we visit hawes again will definitely come back.

Called in here on a Friday afternoon for some lunch , was met by the most miserable woman behind the bar. Literally was like we had majorly inconvenienced her by coming in . We ordered 2 chicken and stuffing sandwiches , which I’d like to add was £13 . Well I did not expect a southern fried chicken nugget with a tiny bit of stuffing with ranch sauce ?? There was literally one fried chicken stick thing sliced in half ( the meat was grey ) with stuffing if you can call it that ( was like powdered stuffing that had literally been mixed with warm water and put in sandwich without cooking ) and then lashings of ranch sauce , probably to cover up what was In The sandwich. I mean it was embarrassing! I’ve never seen anything like it !! We left and definitely would not recommend or return .
