The Pier Hotel

We stayed at The Pier for the Christmas package. Arriving on Christmas Eve till Boxing Day. Everything about the experience was perfect. All the food was delicious and plenty of it, each dish was beautifully presented and service was as always exceptional. Our room was toasty warm and plenty of space to relax and enjoy our Christmas break. The staff worked really hard to make sure everyone had the very best time. Our booking was done by Amy, nothing was too much trouble and she answered every question. In the restaurant Sally and her team always had a smile and looked after us. We can’t forget Caroline at breakfast, she is always such a joy first thing in the morning and again everything was tasty. A huge thank you to Luke and his team for a truly wonderful Christmas.

Welcoming hotel with excellent food and extra touches.Our Standard double had proper Anglepoise lamps so we could read. Also fresh coffee sparkling and still water in the fridge together with fresh milk. The breakfast and evening meal were brilliant and bar snacks very good too loved the homemade sausage rolls! All the staff were lovely and attentive. This is our second visit and we will return.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Wonderfully comfortable beds with high quality linens. However, the staff really made our stay special, everyone we met was so helpful and friendly. Caroline in particular was just fantastic, she ensured we had absolutely everything we needed for breakfast whilst brightening Sunday morning - thank you!

We booked 2 rooms for my 75th birthday we have been staying here for quite a few years now and it’s always been lovely, But this time when we arrived the girl at the desk where we wanted to check in was on the phone and it sounded like a personal call for what we could hear anyway we waited while she finished her call about 3 minutes, we then checked in I went to my room which is lovely but when i opened the fridge expecting the usual water and soft drinks the only thing that was in the fridge was water but didn’t mind too much but when we went into my sisters room she had everything in he fridge so we thought we just mention it in case they had forgotten to refill the fridge , we spoke to the girl at the check in desk and she said it’s all changed now to save money! We said that the fridge was full in the other room and she said it was probably left over from the previous quest. In the morning when I went to make a cup of tea the milk in the fridge was sour we paid £260 plus just over another £100 for the extra food and wine we had for dinner.

I booked The Pier for one night for my wife's birthday , We were looking forward to our evening meal as the reviews looked good sadly things did not go so well. The starters were ok but main course not great the restaurant manager was good and we came to a nice end to the evening. The breakfast the next morning was the best English breakfast I have eaten in any hotel. The restaurant staff were great at all times and room was very clean with a great view bed was so comfortable.

We had the mayflower suite which was very comfortable and clean. And all the staff were lovely. Had a lovely weekend staying there plenty of parking and a lovely walk around the harbor. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a lovely evening meal and a very full English breakfast
